Hi Guys I have just tried starting my fireblade and the battery is a bit down so wouldn't start so today I purchased an optimiser to help on this front but I have a few question on your experience of using them as I am know you guys know your stuff... Firstly is it better to re-charge on or off the bike as I really don't fancy having a battery and charger in the kitchen all winter-no where else to put it unless I keep it on the bike. If I keep it plugged in and the battery on the bike all winter I will have air flow and ventilation problems as I keep the bike cover on and a blanket over that to keep moister out as I keep it in a shed. This is my preferred option and I will also have to get power to the shed. I saw that Oxford do a out door solar panel that is an optimiser but cannot charge just maintain a battery has any one used one? And are they any good? Thanks for your time guys. Ufoxed
Hi I use my optimate all the time when I'm not riding it's wired to my battery never had a problem over winter .I also keep her covered up in my bike garage .
Hi mine is plugged into one all the time and no issue I have the lead by the rear footpegs so don't have to take out and then covered although in internal garage ,,,I think yours will be alright in a shed as long as you could get a weather proof extension lead to it and then cover as you say above
As above, I have mine connected up to the bike and keep it plugged in all the time when not in use and no problems.
Same here. I only have 1 charger and 2 bikes, but alternate it between both bikes in the garage usually a week at a time.
ok guys thanks for taking time to reply ...I will leave it connected to the bike in the shed which is what I wanted to do any way so thanks... Ufoxed
