SuperSport Winter bike?

So the winter..
You need to travel back and forth to work but don't want to sit behind endless cars on rush hour. However your summer bike is tucked away nice and safely in storage itching for the summer to begin again. Take the car?
Nope.
Going to get the R6 out and use that as a winter bike. Over the years I have done this and its not as bad as you think just as long as you stick to 4 simple rules.

1. Wrap up warm, Its winter mind. No race suits!
2. Brakes. Brakes are useless on black ice, useless. Don't use them. You will die.
3. Speed. this is tricky. On the R6 it feels like am only doing 20mph however the speedo says 168mph.
4. Balls/Stupidity. This has to be high. or (Balls bigger than brains as red5 puts it)

I hope my tips help you ride your sportbike this winter. Remember to ride safe and watch out for black ice.

@red5 ... Always wondered why you guys do the duck waddle when you get offa your bikes

 

For just a 2-3 mile commute I'd rather be tucked up behind lots of plastic on a scooter, or riding a bicycle putting in the effort in an attempt to keep warm

Scratch that. I'm happy in my car with my heated seats and my blowers on full. I just sometimes curse the manual gearbox when I'm stuck it traffic wishing that I had bought the automatic

 

I ride my blade every day, sold the car as I wasn't using it, work is a 5 minute ride away though..

 

My decision to take the bike or not is based on poking my head out of the window in the morning... if there is ice on the Wife's car or snow, then I take the car. Anything else is game

32 mile commute (each way)

I get to work in 40 mins ... the car takes twice that.

 

Just got the old CBR1000F out this morning and have to say it was great if a little chilly. My commute is roughly 25 miles. I'd just make sure I wrapped up warm.

Didn't get much chance to hustle it round the twisties as the roads were greasy as feck.

 

5 mins is not to bad

 

Some commute, got to be good during the summer i bet

 

Same, have to take it real slow on the roads this time of year. After a few mins riding the engine will start to warm the wedding veg so that keeps me going.

 

if I had to it would be a big scooter with lots of rain/wind protection, or something like a ktm 390/ninja 300
