Kodi comes preinstalled so it's just plug and play! And you can download other android apps to it through the google play store

I've just bitten the bullet and got the Eurosport player, (£19.99 until tomorrow).
I've already got MotoGP video player so now I'm sorted for the season.

I've been growing increasingly impatient with Discovery documentaries for quite a while now. An increasing sensationalisation over facts, the intensely irritating 3 minute teaser, followed by 10 minutes run time, followed by a 3 minute break, followed by a 3 minute recap on the last 10 minutes. A savage dumbing down of any subject matter. Plus the flooding of 'Deadliest Catch' clones full of false jeopardy and confrontations that are more predictable than a Scooby Doo plot. And just how many custom car builder programmes does one channel need...?

As long as I can get Eurosport for WSBK, BSB and hours and hours of cycling I'm happy.
Retirement, I'd recommend it to anyone :):):)

Totally agree, but Vikings and Black Sail are both good dramas. Even Sacred Steel Bikes is quite amusing....

Vikings is great, but I get that on Amazon

If Discovery goes I may well bin Sky as it is one of the main reasons for having it. I already have Amazon Prime and BT Sport to cover most of what I watch, and I got the Eurosport thing just in case it does leave Sky, and have the added bonus of being able to watch this year's TdF whilst at work.

With most series available on Amazon for free or £20ish pounds for the whole series Sky just doesn't make much sense financially anymore.

Ironically from what I have read it is Discovery who are being the arseholes about this.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like Sky are saying pretty much what I said in my last post. The content doesn't warrant the bill...

My thinking is that streaming is the way to go for me. It doesn't tie me to be sat in front of the box at the same time everyday and doesn't lumber me with a hard drive full of stuff "I must get around to watching...". I have Netflix already. If I buy Amazon too I will save £935 per year. Plug a hard drive into my telly for the live stuff I can't manage in realtime... the beginnings of a plan is taking shape.

Streaming isn't an option for me as I get 4Mbps at maximum. Can't get cable due to rural location. Hoping govt carry through with this minimum service provider of 10 Mbps by 2020 !

Ouch! I was where you are until about three years ago with BT giving the big FO to us whenever we pleaded for fibre. Suddenly, with the announcement of 2500 new homes just behind the village, bingo!...fibre optics.

I am in a village also MPJ, but at they ran a fibre to the village BT cabinet, but not into the houses, so we have fibre to cabinet, then copper cable as usual from cab to home, but at least that gives me 46Mbps, enough for 4k streaming, so how far are you from fibre exchange MPJ?

Our exchange and cabinet is fibre but the signal to our house is crap, only about 8Mb over vdsl. To get a decent connection I have had to have a work line fitted and then use a network device to effectively join the 2 connections.

You should be able to stream SD quality at 2Mb, but you will probably need to kick everyone off the connection first.

Nearest fibre cabinet is approx 5km away. It's a long standing issue (lived here 14 years+) even the phone line is crap, it runs through Forestry/Estate land before splitting off to various properties. Last engineer I had told me (off the record) they dug the phone cable too close to the electricity pylons. Unbeknownst to me my neighbours recently all wrote to BT chairman about the quality of the phone line lol. Some of them have it worse than me !
