Hi guys, I'm looking at getting an aftermarket can for my 14. After a bit of research it looks like the manifolds changed on the 14+ to 60mm from 50mm. My bike was registered Jan 14 on a 63 plate. I'm unsure if I need the later 60mm or if it needs the 50mm pipes from the earlier models. Is there anyway of telling short of taking it off and measuring it? Thanks in advance!
You can measure it without taking off. It's the size of the joint between headers and the end can. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be along in a minute but I'm sure the headers are also slightly different - in that they have cross tubes joining the outlets.
I do know that the 14 blades had 5 bolt petrol caps... 12 ,13 had 7...not related to your exhaust. ...but it should tell you if yours is a true 14 bike
What kind of ignition key do you have? If its longer thin spindly type its a pre 14 bike, if its a thicker and shorter one its a 14 bike.
On the Log book / frame is it RR-E = 2014 bike Key is easiest way to tell - smooth edges = 2014+ bike - will add picture to show difference in a few mins
Look for where the lambda sensor screws into the exhaust if into manifold it's the 14+ bike with 60mm header outlet If it's into the end can it will be the older bike with 50mm header outlet
No need to measure anything! It's simple if you have the Cat underneath at the end of the headers then it's a later model 2014 onwards 60mm OD and if you haven't got the cat underneath then it's a 50mm OD outlet
Key on left pre 2014 bike, short / stubby key on right 2014+ revised bikes Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
Thanks! By the looks of it it's a 14. Only just got back from work so I'll have to look at the exhaust in the light. But I definitely have the thinner longer key
Image got rotated. The 2014+ bikes have the top key, earlier the lower / thinner one Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
