Morning every one I have a 2008 blade and the battery has given up on me What would people recommend that I replace it with was thinking of something with a little bit more power Your help and advice would be much appreciated
Motobatt are pretty good and relatively cheap usually about £40-45 It's just a case of checking the CCA (cold cranking amps) of any new battery the higher number the better Lithium are good also but more expensive
I chose a lithium Ion battery over a lead acid one as they give 150 CCA which really helps fire the Blade's engine, more powerfully. In cold weather they need to be switched on for a few minutes before cranking the engine, though. I keep mine in the house during cold weather; it's only a 5 minute job to reconnect it. Ive gone full circle from lead to Lithium back to lead. Lithium is OK good cracking but the capacity is pretty poor. e.g. if you breakdown if will not run the hazards for too long. Check you have a decent BMS circuit on the battery. Your battery will die very quickly If run low or if the cells are not balanced charged. As said cold starts can be a pain. Also if you need to charge you will need a lithium charger. I just buy the cheapest powerline battery from Tanya does the job
Lithium ! Even the new Fireblade got one. The battery is now 1kg lighter , using a race style lithium iron battery, instead of an old-fashioned acid battery.

motobatt sucks i bought it as cheap replacment i always use my bike all year round and when it is freezing cold i have heated gloves and jacket it has never been problem till i replaced the battery now it wont even start on same days or it starts and dies after 2 secoinds i have to rev it strtaight away to get it going put yuasa orginial batery and everything is back to normal
Perhaps you just had a dud battery? Mine worked fine for over 3 years in all weathers and still have it as a back up now and it's holding its charge
SPS Lithium Ion for me, on its 3rd season as still mint, I do take it off the bike over the winter months and really think that's the key to a healthy battery. 5min job to remove so no great shakes.... also it's never needed charging off the bike
the yasa has the highest CCA (120 I believe) others are 100~120 so check them carefully. As for lithium it's got pluses and minuses you need to see how it can fit into your use because while a good solution for some, it is not for others. unfortunately you cannot increase the capacity easily as you have space and cable length restriction on the bike. if you can do some moding and chopping, you might be able to squeeze in an ABS battery (slightly higher capacity) in your bike

Aving probs starting even after use think al try one of these bought new battery today n no different maybe a charging fault but al try one of these
Have you checked the charging system? Should be getting around 14v @ 5,000 rpm. If you're not, you may have a regulator (aka rectifier) and stator issue (if the regulator has gone it has probably fried the stator too). Check this before buying a new battery.
