Anyone know if Honda customer services will advise the service/warranty history of a bike? I know the likes of Audi will tell you the history of a car, provided it's been serviced through a main dealer. I've seen one I like that's only 3 years old and 4000 miles, but three owners. I'm obviously wary it's a lemon and they've all been glad to get rid quickly. I've done the usual HPI checks, but they don't reveal if it's a mechanical lemon.
First owner could be the dealer! As could have been pre registered for them to keep their numbers up, other 2 owners might have traded up from a 600 and found a 1000 to much for them, or their financial circumstances might have changed Am guessing you haven't bought the bike yet? The seller if legit should be happy to let you know the last known service dealer, as it's only got 4K mileage it's probably had the first and second services only
Yeah, all perfectly plausible explanations for numerous owners in a short time. But it being a lemon is also plausible. TBH, it's something that's bugged me about the car/bike industry for years. That you can easily find out if a car's been stolen, but not if it's been a mechanical nightmare.
Bought my RR9 with 3259 on the clock. I am the 4th owner of the bike. Only mechanical issue was a warped disc, but doth discs were replaced by the dealer before I collected the bike
Try buying a bike over here , most bikes have zero service history, you just have to look them over as best u can
Probably won't tell you anything about previous owners due to date protection act etc, any details of previous owners within the documents available ?, when I bought mine I was able to get full details from original sale invoice (I bought the bike from the 2nd owner), I wrote to the guy and asked if he could give me a phone call to discuss his period of ownership, he duly did I felt so much more comfortable parting with my cash after getting lots of information.
