as some of you may remember I tried to get racefit to make a custom pipe that would marry up with my akrapovic titanium headers.

After a few phone calls to them and not much response I thought this was dead in the water! Until recently when a mate gave me an R6 racefit to see if it might be the right shape to fit

Well as it happens it is quite a good fit shape wise but the inlet was to small so had to chop and put some slits in to make it able to slip onto the headers

Not entirely happy I've made another template to see if it would look better with the hanger more elongated

Personally I would get someone to weld a small bracket off the main pipe that fixes to OE mount off your rearsets! Will look cleaner and probably not going to cost a fortune....

Not many will weld titanium and those that will try to do it probably don't have the proper purge tank to do it, then need to make a titanium bracket where as Ali hanger won't cost as much

Other things to get done are seeing if the later infil panel fit with my belly pan, change the endcap over to one that can take a baffle, make a collar to slip between the headers and slipon due to differences in diameter

Seems like a lot of agg there mate.
Probably would be easier to get hold of a set of OEM headers or go full Racefit straight through and flog the Akra headers.

Racefit don't do headers, cost at end of day will be about £250 all in! New racefit is £600 so a big saving and a massive weight loss over stock headers and can and a kg down on the full akra system, nice to be different

Fair enough; you seem to be more than capable.
From my cackhanded perspective this is something I'd avoid

Good luck with it...and keep the pictures coming; I'm genuinely interested to see how this will end up.

Don't paint it till you try the carbon can first. Is it possible to have too much carbon? #kingcarbon

So trial fitted bracket with exhaust and all fits well! Just need to make it out of thicker aluminium now and sort the collar out then job done

Glad you went for the more raked out look Steve..... looks fab:D I'd go with mat or satin on both clamp and hanger and finish off with a nice drilled Ti bolts up the top :)I'm such a tart:D

Just noticed..... I'm thinking the fixing will also look better behind the support bracket..... just be fussy but that's the way I would go, you might have to tweak it a little....
