Got my 2013 Repsol delivered just before going on holiday a few weeks ago. Did a quick 10 miles on it to make sure everything was OK, then the modding started... Oil, filter & spark plug service R&G tail tidy HRC quick action throttle Rizoma rearsets HM Plus SS quickshifter Arrow trophy race system & O2 sensor eliminator Renthal sprockets (-1 +1), D.I.D. ZVMX chain Speedo healer Rear linkage stripped and greased All suspension settings set to factory default Cleaned inside & out, top to bottom Did 100 miles or so the other day, and I'm very impressed. Comparing directly to the RSV4 it replaced - it's about as fast, maybe a little quicker but not much in it. It's SO smooth, so easy to ride fast... The RSV4 was much firmer, much more animated, smaller and more cramped, far more keen to lift the front at any given opportunity. I'm particularly surprised at the midrange, it's very strong. Brakes are shite, but then my last bike had M50's and an RCS master... Makes a good noise but nothing will ever sound as good as a V4! It'll make a fantastic track bike for next year, and hopefully many years of reliable fun. Next on the cards is upgrading the brakes...
Valve problems... Still not sure exactly what and now I'll never know. Was going to cost too much to investigate and fix and I'd only bought the bike (with ALL my money) a few months prior... So I broke it for parts to try and break even. The logical replacement was arguably the most reliable brand out there!
