I'm doing the Ron Haslam school day on the 600rr's next week. Really excited and looking forward to it.

Only hear positives about it. Any advice or tips from anyone who's done it?

Only down side is that I've gone and broken my middle two toes on my left foot - but it doesn't really effect my gear changing.

Should I use their gear or stick with my own?

Use your own gear mate, you'll feel more comfortable in it. I did it last year, great fun, even in the wet.

Have a great time. Try and pair off with someone at your ability to get the best out of it. And try and listen to what they say about how you sit on the bike and adjust your position... pretty much the most important thing to get your track riding good.

Sounds good advice - I've got this "knee down" thing in my head. Never managed it on the road so I'm determined to try it at Donno. Will ask the instructor for advice/body position tips.

If you want to learn how to do knee downs in a controlled environment and on someone else's bike then try this lot https://www.i2imca.com/KneeDown.asp I did it and it was a great day, learnt more than just how to grind toe protectors and knee-sliders ;)

Don't spend all your time on track trying to do them when you could be learning other more important stuff.

Yeah - don't focus on the knee. I've still never had mine down on the road btw! Focus on getting your head down and body off the bike and build up your speed. Knee down will just happen when you get faster. And when it does you'll probably immediately bring the bike back upright because you're not expecting it!!
