Hi, Have just bought an 06 Blade and joined the forum. I have spent hours and hours searching through the "Mods and Upgrades" category to find info on various upgrades that I am planning in the near future but have had very little success in finding any of it due to fact that there is only one category that covers mod's for ALL the blade models out there. Obviously having an older blade makes it much more difficult to find info, but most of the other forums I have been on, have sub-categories for the specific model/year of the bike you own. I would like to suggest that the forum controllers add these model sub-categories under the overall Mod's category to go forward from here. Just think, in five or six years time all the current models will be out date and surpassed by new models. Like me, the owners of these now "out of date" models will struggle to find info current to their model. I have tried the forum search engine using "2006", "06" etc, etc... but it just rejects that with a message saying it's either "too long, too short or too common"!?!? Cheers.
Hi Mr Jones. I hope we can drop the formalities and call you 'Jonesy' or similar. Your idea has merit and would probably be quite easy to implement. On the other hand, I found that scrolling through threads and reading posts that weren't relevant to my year (2011) I am still learning heaps after a long absence from bikes. Whilst some information is specific only to certain years, much is cross-compatible with others - as you would probably realise.
Aye but it’s pretty pointless (and seriously time wasting) when you are looking for something specific to your bike and you have to open a hundred posts on “exhausts”, only to find that none of them refer to the model you have. If you want to read up about other models you can still do this in the sub-categories but at least your not shooting in the dark to find a needle in a hay stack.
As a FREE forum your ideas is great in principle, but there are limiting factors as you’ve already found out! Being that the thread titles are generated by the users and not the staff so lack of info in the title does make searching difficult but not impossible if you make your search specific eg 2006 flapper mod, 2006 generator, Secondly as a FREE forum where would the money come from to pay someone to spend the time to re-arrange the past 7-8 years of posts and threads, to suit one new member! This is the first thread I’ve seen in 5 years complaining that someone couldn’t find something, google search is much the same in that if you only put “exhaust” or “2006” what will come up? The forum also has limiting factors being the software used for it and bandwidth etc! So while some things might be able to be added some might not be able, please bear in mind that the site owner runs this site for free at no cost to you, so while it might take slightly longer to search for something it’s not costing you anything is it? I’ve always found reading through some of the posts informative even when not about my specific bike as the blade although with new clothes every couple of years is pretty much the same bike be it underseat exhaust of not
Aye, I understand it's "FREE", "FREE", FREE" got that point. Nobody is asking anybody to go back and categorise all the posts. The suggestion was to create the model sub categories and go forward from here so it makes it easier for future users. Lump all the old posts under an "All Models" sub category and if there is any generic posts they can still go in there. Was just a suggestion to improve things greatly but shit, no problem, live with it the way it is.

I agree with u nigelrb lol mr jones keep looking I had a micron full on a cbr 600 great system but they can be pricey probs more on a blade have a look sir
