Seat bolt please

Hi..does anyone have one of these seat bolts that hold your seat in place please? When u take the seat trIm panels off,them 2 bolts that hold your seat on..lost 1 down the side of my bike when removing the seat and it didn't fall to the ground.. couldn't see it anywhere down my bike so I guess it's lodged somewhere or now fell out on the road after a ride.. thnx..for a blade 14 onwards please

 

Hi Keith, generally accepted you're best of junking the originals as they turn to cheese and will let you down at some point.

Just order the combination of bolts and washers listed here.

Failing that, main dealer... it'll be a couple of quid at most.

Yeah all good thanks....safely tucked away for my next blade in the new year.

As I left there was a biker down in the centre lane of the westbound m27 surrounded by medics, didn't look good. Must have happened minutes after me.

I've done away with my seat bolts and in their place have made a pair of screw in studs with a hole drilled to take an R-clip. Very cheap easy mod which saves a lot of hassle getting your seat off.

I drilled out the threads on my k8 gsxr and put in marine detent pins that worked well

Those pins look even better than my R-clips. What diameter are they?

 

I think they were 5 or 6 mil

 

Oh, okay see now how you have done that but no sure how secure that would be over a big bump. Headin* offshore tomorrow but will send you pictures when I get back.
