Proper cleaner from Guy http://singletrackworld.com/2017/11/exclusive-guy-martin-wants-to-clean-your-bike/amp/
During the winter I only commute, most of my riding is during the dark so no point having the HRC looking pretty. In any case I don,t really want to wash off the anti corrosion coatings. Also its too damn cold to stick my hand in a bucket of water. The only cleaning is done on the chain and brakes. When the round shiny thing in the sky returns I also ride for fun (as well as commute), thats when the crud is washed off and shes ready for showing off. Even after a winter of salt and crud with a little of elbow grease shes back to show room condition.
It breaks my heart to get any salt or grit on the bike so I tuck it up in bed for the winter. During the summer months I tend to wipe the bike down with a dry cloth on the paintwork and WD 40 on the metalwork .
Some of you ‘dry ride’ clean freaks must never have toured.... Cos when you come back the bikes bogging.... But who cares! Biggest smile on ya face ever. Lifes an adventure. Clean the bike later
I think he means he falls into the catagory of the dry clean freaks bit at the beginning rather than the latter part
Jimbo vills is right about the touring the bike looks very 2nd hand after a European trip but the smiles and general crack while away is far better than worrying about a bit of grit. Only time my bikes see a pressure washer is after a trip,I have been known to do it while away often see pressure washing bays in Spain/Germany etc
