I've sourced some rubber to act as spacers to stop the seat cowl rattling. Can someone post a pic please of their seat cowl area with the oem spacers in situ for me so I've some idea where I'm putting them. Mine's an 11 plate

I'm not sure the seat cowl has rubber grommets or whatever you mean. It' just the pillion seat that has the grommets as they are obviously load bearing. Here's a pic of mine and it just has little pegs at the rear of the cowl that tuck in and hold it in place.

The rubber spacers usually come with the aftermarket cowl I believe, but are easily lost. Mine were missing when I got the bike. The pics below are of the spacers number 17 on the diagram & of the spacers themselves in the packet.
As you can see from the pic of my cowl & fairing...I've no spacers at all. I'm presuming the spacers fit on the fairing part, with the cowl fitting on top as usual?!?
It's just with me using some home made spacers, I may have to stick them down so I need to be sure of roughly where they go!

( I'm beginning to wish I'd stayed in the kitchen now & baked some cakes it's much simpler  :D )

Ah now it makes sense. Maybe mine are missing then as I have none at all as well.

Mine doesn't rattle though so it's never been an issue.....or maybe I can't hear it over the Racefit!!!!

Where you get the rubbers Lozzy??

Maybe the 14 plate system is a better fit?

You'd definitely notice the slack fitting like mine. It's scuffed all the paintwork around the edges too.

I've ripped the rubber seal off an old oven & hopefully it'll do but I think I'm going to have to stick it down, so I'll have to make sure it doesn't interfere with the pillion seat on the odd occasion I pop it on!

I think you can order the original spacers online.

Mines an 09 plate so same fitment as yours Lozzy, I think a lot of them scuff the paint off the tail end, maybe this happens because of the missing rubbers lowers the cowl bringing into contact with the paint. The previous owner of my bike had the genius idea of putting a piece of clear sticky back plastic over the area that is prone to rubbing and it's remained in perfect condition! I'll try and put a pic of it on here.

Great idea with the oven seal ......Won't be much baking of cakes going on after that though haha!! ;)

Ye mine had the clear film on it when I bought it , but I didn't like the look of it and took it off , iv a chinese sp seat cowl on it now and the fit is much better than the Honda racing one, it has like a leg at the back that fits into the slot u can see at the back of the pic I posted, I'm not sure if the same slot is there for the 08/11

The four on these picture are on the bodywork & not cowl. I have also got (two missing!) Was not sure if the have fallen off or honda QA oversight.
the cowl may have different ones (I use the pillion seat)
