Looking at upgrading the suspension on my RR-7 as it’s the only thing letting the bike down.

The rear shock will obviously need replaced as there’s not a lot you can do with it.

I was thinking of going for a Maxton replacement.

As for the forks, a re-valve, re-spring and more suitable oil followed by a setup.

Anyone offer some advice as to what the best route to go down would be?

    Many thanks in advance.

Sound like you have a good idea already. How far you go depends on what you use the bike for, but there decent choice of rear shocks and fork internals out there.

Have you thought about just sending the forks and shock to MCT in Stowmarket or a service and rebuild.

    They are very good.

Depends what your budget is. I did this over two years. Upgraded the rear with ohlins and the front with a full cartridge kit from Matris.
While the front was apart I had the tubes polished and anodised.
Transformed the Bike. RR6 by the way.

    Thanks for the replies lads.

Ended up buying the shock mentioned in this thread.

I’m going to have the suspension re-sprung and re-oiled to my weight and the forks will be re-valved along with a full setup.

Should make a big difference for not a comparatively small amount of money.

PS - I dropped the old shock out this morning.

What grease is recommended for the linkage? I use a lot of Silkolene Pro RG2 on my Motocross bike. Would it do?
Also, is it recommended to replace the linkage bolts and nuts with new ones?
