Well if someone could help me out a bit here. Bike drives perfectlly as it should I just think it doesnt sound good at all. The idle could be that it has a yoshi and would have to put a power commander. Not sure Thanks for the help
Has the sound of the idle changed recently, because from the videos It doesn't sound that different to either of mine. The exhaust does make them sound a bit lumpy, but if it rides ok then I'd live with a lumpy idle if that's all it is.?
The first video sounds different to the second. It's almost a 'chaff-cutter' sound. I wonder if an exhaust gasket is perished or if one or more of the exhaust flanges (at the cylinder head) are loose. Worthwhile checking. cheers.
Sounds like a twin in the first video!! Second video sounds quite normal to me though. I've just put a racefit growler 2 on mine and the idle is normal with the baffle in, but with the baffle out the rev needle fluctuates slightly. So probably something to do with your exhaust not being set up properly. It's something I plan to sort out in the new year but it doesn't bother me too much!
I do notice thar the exhaust is a bit distorted not completely straight dunno if that has anything to do with it. Well thanks for the help guys. Need to go service her this week if weather allows and i’ll ask of anything is normal! Cheers ✌
That would be awesome bud. I live in central london and you? wouldn’t mind going anywhere as i don’t know anyone with a 1000rr too
I'm a bit far north in Lincoln, but Nigel's suggestion of checking the exhaust joins for air leaks is still a good one to try in the mean time.
Hmm. Dunno about that. The rate bikes are being stolen in London, poor 'Alberfb88' might not have his after the New Year.
When I changed my exhaust over for a yoshi the idle dies slightly alter, I put this down to removing the exhaust valve which the bike is obviously set up to run alongside with. When the bike is at idle this valve would normally be closed so I presume that it has to do with back pressures etc, all though it doesnt bother me to much a simple trip to a dyno and a little bit of their magic should cure this and give you a bit of power gain aswell not that these bikes need them. If it ridea well then I wouldnt worry to much about it if it starts cutting out then you have an issue!
