As above, never been there before. Is it worthwhile for general interest? I went to NEC last November and bagged a few goodies, but I imagine Manchester might be a smaller show. 2 hour-plus drive for me, so just want some general insight. Ta.
It's OK but no NEC. I tend to do NEC one year then Manchester the next. I must admit to being disappointed last year yet it was a bigger show so it is slowly improving but wouldn't travel 2 hours to go.
It's smaller & if you've been to the NEC you'll have already seen everything. If you lived nearby & it was a choice between a Sunday carvery ...or the show I'd say go but as Frank says it ain't worth your journey...
Its ok, but its close to me, as above really, if you have a free day and can plan a decent route toward Machester then I wouldgo for it, if its 2 hrs on a motorway I wouldnt
Cheers. I tend to keep all my motorway activities for the car. I might lose a few with this, but I think endless miles of straight-up riding is a waste of a good bike. (Unless it's necessary for work, of course).
I'll be there on the 24th, but it's only 5 minutes away for me!! Be good to pick up a few goodies, can't go mad though, bought shit loads recently and it's new tyres tomorrow......but maybe the Mrs will treat me for my birthday. She's already bought the tickets! Birthdays the 21st by the way......just sayin
Yeah, Happy Birthday, Paul. What a great gift having a 'selfie' from Lozzy. I hope you won't mind if I don't follow suit.
Jesus Mary and Joseph!!! That's the best Happy Birthday message I've had so far today!! Nah best leave it Nige. .......the last thing I need is you on 'one' of your bikes in your dirty undercrackers and gravy stained vest haha! !
I choose it as a perfect example of the benefits of having a taller screen.... (which some of us of course haven't got ) without which, no doubt she would be butt naked from the wind blast....
Well I'll be going tomorrow, hoping to bag a new pair of gloves and what ever shite I can get my hands on for free!!
Free? How'd you wrangle that? I couldn't even get a free coffee at the NEC. Did get some good bargains though. World Superbikes (Thailand) tomorrow from 6 am (Eurosport on BT) Do you get that with your package?
Haha I'm not saying I'll get the gloves free......will just try and 'snaffle' what I can though.......you don't ask you don't get and all that! Yeah it's already on series link, got full sports package on Virgin. Won't be watching live though, got an early start tomorrow, full english in the Bird 'ith Hand before getting to the show about 11
Well had a really good day at the show today, quite surprised at the size of it to be fair. I know it's not on the magnitude of the NEC but it was ok, all the manufacturers were there, Honda, Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki, Ducati etc etc. I got what I was after too.....bagged myself some alpinestars gp pro r2 gloves in the colour I really wanted, bartered him down by £25 from the asking price as Well and they were already cheaper than any I've seen online, I do like a bargain! Also got a Honda Racing BSB team Fleece and T shirt, I think it's last season's but it's the same as this year's and at the price I had to have them.....again cheaper than anything I've seen online! Then I went home and sat there watching World Superbikes qualifying and race 1 in me Gloves!!
Yep, gotta wear in the gloves. I had to search high and low for something of appropriate size to wrap my fists around. . . . and then I pulled a rolling pin out of the kitchen drawer.
I've been looking at these gloves for ages, I was just about to buy pair online in size Large......so glad I didn't !!! I couldn't even get a large past my wrist, the XL was a squeeze and the XXL went on ok but too baggy on the fingers. Opted for the XL on the assumption that they will break in over time......they do say sizing is small on Alpinestars apparently!! Well chuffed with them though
They are on the small side...I've got the gp pro's & need a large! They do stretch a little & go super comfy though.
