Noted on a previous thread (of mine I think ) the swingarm stickers. I hadn't really noticed them before trawling through pics. - now I see them on other bikes too and they keep catching my eye as an abomination* Whats the general consensus of opinion, get rid or ignore? *not quite an abomination but irksome
Probably a personal thing but I got rid. They don't tell you owt that you can't find in the book & I think they look horrible.
Yes, I tend to agree now. I just keep noticing them so I think they'll have to go. Another job for Sat morning.
Less is best, I've also removed lower fairing/belly pan stickers appart from the big red Honda decal, looks so much better.
I maintain my previous opinion. Leaving all mine on. However, I try to look only at the right-hand-side of my bikes
Get the hairdryer out and removed them, your bike willl look so much better especially if you got a black swingarm.
This may be total horse poo, but I am sure years ago someone posted to leave them on as it could be an excuse for a dealer to invalidate your warranty. That’s provided your bike is still within warranty. For example if you wanted to change your fuel tank cover as the side stickers were coming off.
Well, I am sure going to cover my butt on this. I am going to attach a NEW sticker to my swingarm: 'I conscientiously adhere to the information provided on these stickers'. That'll stuff 'em. They're not voiding my warranty!
I got rid of mine on my own blade and put a Yoshimura one on, but on the wife's new blade they are proving more difficult to remove without scratching the paint.
I carefully removed mine with the help of a hairdryer, came of intact and I stuck them to a piece of white card which I keep with the owners book. Someone else might want the info on them in the future should I sell it. I do like a swing arm decal/sticker though, got some lovely Renthal ones that came with my new sprocket. Don't think I'll be using them though as they don't go with the HRC theme! I'm already breaking all my own Rules by not having Metzeler logos plastered all over the front mudguard and Swingarm when I actually have Metzeler tyres.....Bridgestone decals look much cooler!
I wouldnt have bothered Paul.... it's a slow old Hrc weighed down with half a ton of stickers & will probably go straight to auction
Well, I finally got round to taking the stickers off. Heatgun to loosen them up and they came off no bother.
Could they really void warranty for removing stickers??? Surely it’s all in the handbook so why difference would it make?
Interesting. My first reaction is 'no way known'. But on deeper thought, as a 'devil's advocate position', if someone had a rear hub (for instance) malfunction caused by an overtightened chain, and the dealer shifted the responsibility to the owner (who admitted removing stickers) there would be a case of negligence and non-adherance by the owner to the manufacturers recommended settings. Big call, I know, but in current times of litigation and deflecting responsibility, nothing is impossible at the hands of a 'shifty' dealer.
They can't void warranty for removing the stickers. The only reason they're there is to save going digging the manual out or not having it nearby & all info is touch of a button on phone if needed. Too much man overthinking going on....just get em stripped off
