Hi Thinking of swapping my Gen 3 S1000rr for an SP, not ridden the bike yet but got talking to Dobles who have a couple at the moment. How are you finding them?.
For me, I can't say a bad word against them. I have the 2018 SP2. Handle so well despite it feeling like a very small bike. Electronics are a bit gimmicky because once set, job's done, unless you run between track and road use. Seems to be a few on the market which might suggest some buyers haven't liked them.
Love mine only fault is the electrics not the easiest to get your head around , haven’t got a clue what I am doing with the suspension settings I have ridden gen 2 and 3 s1000rr didn’t make me think I need one.
Love mine to bits, rides beautifully with very crisp handling and performance, don't worry about the electronics, setting 1,2,3,A2 works well for road use. I would say putting the right tyres on helps too, I've gone for the Michelin Power RS's which give you lots of confidence when going on the twisty stuff plus it looks good too, enjoy.
Many good words about the Power RS's. I am very pleased with my Pirelli Super Corsas, so am not sure when it comes time for the new tyre - perhaps in about 2024.

Pirelli's were OK but not in the wet, but love the RS, just need to give them a run out on the track
Also thinking of changing to RS’s the super Corsa’s take too long to warm up and cool down too quickly other than that I love the sp
All the best for it. You might be aware that Dobles have had a few for a while. You could really screw them on price and get an extraordinary deal. Plus, as it's nearing the end of the month, they'll be conscious of getting their sales figures up. (Stats show sports bikes about 41% down over last year) Beware. Once you ride it, you will own it!!
On my second now mate, helped run in the travelling marshalls bikes for the TT and had my own 2017 all last summer, just got a new 2018 SP and done over 2000 miles already in three weeks. Ignore the keyboard experts that have never ridden one they are seriously good road bikes.
Been offered abit of discount and a good PX already from them. Looking forward to riding the bike and see how they compare to my S1000rr. Thinking of getting rear sets fitted also to lower the feet.
From 19th May until the 30th June there is 0% APR over 3 years PLUS a £500 deposit contribution on all 2017 and 2018 (excluding SP2)
If you haven't got them on your Repsol, I doubt you'll need them on the 2017-18, unless you want a totally different feel. The riding position is so similar, you'd hardly notice the diff.
