HI there, Just bought a lovely 2014 Blade completely standard, absolutely love it but the exhaust is far too quite so am wanting to change the exhaust. Went to buy an exhaust then realised the 2014 has a different bore size and they dont do one for this year bike then tried another compnay and they wouldnt do one either . Soo am just wondering has anyone on their 2014-2016 blade changed their exhaust if so what type have they gone for or has anyone gone down the route of using a reducer to fit a 50mm end can on? Thanks in advance for any help
Have you got one on yours? I was thinking about the growler but dont know how loud loud would be haha, mate has a two bothers m2 on his 2011 and thats loud lol and the racefit looks louder
Also..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXHAUST-...GAPHONE-TITANIUM-RC-S-H10SO11-T-/401100597457 Both are nice & loud
Hitch iam very tempted with the racefit just wish i could here one properly all youtube are just revving no ones on tick over and no decent ones with bike moving.. Lozzy i seen this one aswell as one came up second hand, but was put off as i had one on me gixxer a megaphone and it was tinny as hell... How do you think yours is as it looks a different style megaphone for the blade so may be a deeper sound as thats what i like. Always had a mivv so they are nice and deep but loud lol.
The megaphone gp on mine doesn't sound tinny it's sounds really good...and that's with the baffle in and it's still loud. I love the racefit that Hitch has got they sound & look awesome...and I was going to have one initially but the current bike came with this megaphone & I really like it so it's staying for the time being.
I too have a 14 plate blade, and went to the Bike show last year with a mate who also has a 14 plate. I only had a new Helmet on my shopping list, my mate had an exhaust and a helmet - we have different tastes in helmets, I got an Arai, he got a Shoei. I had already disconnected the flapper on the standard exhaust, and was heppy with the noise it made, and got rid of the 50 MPH surge. However when we got to the Racefit stand and chatted to the directors there, I was a convert - the finish, and attention to detail is fabulous. . The way the infill panel works makes it a huge improvement over most of the other exhausts, and going for the Growler allows you to fit a baffle if you want. Don't suppose you are anywhere near Poole, but would be happy to let you hear it with or without the baffle.
I wish I was mate... i live in Newcastle. Do you use yours mostly with baffle out? If so is it uncomfortably loud or just nice?
So far its been mostly out, the first run I had it in, and took it out 1/2 way through the day, and left it out. Providing you have earplugs in and keep the revs down through town its fine, sounds like a proper motorbike said another mate with an R1 with probably the loudest pipes I have ever heard! Best advice I could have is it will depend on how you ride and where, keep the baffle in if its lots of town riding, out if you are out in the country with the revs up = and earplugs in!
Cheers mate. Think il have to go for it .. I think they look great and suit the bike. I was just worried about them being too OTT. But there seems to be quite a few on blades so they can't be that bad haha..
I put an Austin on my blade 2 days ago, was out yesterday and it is obnoxiously loud, I ride with ear plugs and I could still feel the noise, awesome awesome can, gets my vote every time, a mate had one on his R1M at the track and it sounded better than everything! Sc projects do 3 types for all blades from 08 onwards. Great workmanship but made to order in Italy with about 5 week turnaround. Approx £345 inc.link pipe.
My lady has the 2014 Blade, with Race Fit. It sounds good but we have both just ordered the Black Edition. I have a flyby vid of her 2011 with the Black Edition. I'll see if I can share it here as its on my phone. Race Fit all the way, cheaper than SC project but sound just as good. Unless you want to go on track, then keep something as a spare as the Black Edition won't take a baffle and will not pass noise tests.
Just changed mine out from Akrapovic Mega Phone to Race-Fit Black Edition and have to to say it's lighter and far better looking. Sounds fantastic and build quality is mega. Still prefer the look of my Austin Racing but the build quality wasn't that great. But beware out of the 3 systems the RaceFit is louder!
