Don’t know if this is in right part so if not, apologies.

I used to store my mountain bikes on a frame above my blade (more fool me) which decided to fall off onto my bike. Now I have about 5 scratches, all to different plastics. Anyone any experience with getting them repaired and rough idea how much it will be? I messaged someone I found online and he said the plastics would need to be removed and completely repainted, losing me all stickers/ transfers etc.

You could find a paint detailer and show them they have amazing tricks at fixing up bodywork, but in my past experience it fell down to how good do you want it to be. If you want a perfect paint job then it will be a respray.. but others on here may have some ideas for you..

It appears that they aren't superficial and able to be polished out - especially the tank, which appears gouged.

Even with amazing scanning technology for colour matching, I don't think a patch up job would please you. Plus, to repair a localised area might not even be as cost effective as respraying the whole panel/tank cover etc.

Depending on your location, there are some excellent refinishers who also airbrush on decals. One is: http://www.dream-machine.co.uk/
often mentioned on this forum for their fine work on Repsols/Red Bull etc.

Thank s for reply’s. I’m actually going to sell my bike due to having two young kids so trying to work out if it would be cost effective to repair it before selling or just sell it with scratches.

As a serial bike buyer I can say that I would be put off by scratches. It would have to be a generous financial incentive for me to buy and get repaired at my own expense. I believe you would fare better with it repaired, or with Chinese fairings, or as Naz says above, with an eBay search.

Have a look at smart repairs, they can normally do tiny chips/ scratches etc in place, usually work out cheaper than full panels with stickers etc

The repair areas are straightforward and do not require sticker removal, the major thing you have in your favour is tha amount of different panel lines, so a good repairer works off them. Every mark on there can be localised and repaired. The only issue you have is finding someone who is good enough to undertake the repair, they are out there, just have to find them. £200 would cover it.
