Hi Folks, Almost a Fireblade owner collecting on Sunday. The first thing I notice is no rear seat cowl. I see loads of very cheap (like £15) on eBay but a big lack of anything that looks better quality. Can anybody direct me in the right direction ? Happy to go Chinesey if the are OK ? Cheers Gerry
Hiya Gerry. This is right up my alley! I bought an RR4 recently and wanted the cowl. OEMs available in some colours but I think they were 100 quid plus. You could score a genuine off eBay, but could be lucky to get the right colour in good condition. Going price around 50 quid. If you take it to a pro painter, if it's 2-pack (metallic underlay) you could be up for 80 quid of paint plus labour. Big cost but great job! (I did that - but I'm very over-the-top. Not bragging, just honest) Alternative is the Chinese copy, which I first started off with. 'Reasonably' good fit, but you will more than likely see an uneven gap between cowl and bike's rear section. In black, it might not be so noticeable. (Mine is white) Pic below shows gap. Note this is not colour matched. Chinese do a basic colour and not the bike colour. Cowl is flat white, bike is Pearl White.
