Done 800km on it so far, picked it up last saturday. I can't say anything bad about it, everything is so fresh and new. Between the quick shifter, blipper, cruise controll i am truly impressed with the versatility. Did a 500km trip on it, and honestly i could ride back another 500km when i got to my destination.

The tech on this bike is so good, like i mention above. You also get bluetooth, auto cancelling turn signals, keyless go, daylight running lights.

But above all these features, you get a 1301cc V-twin that cranks out 177 HP and 141 NM of torque. What a monster that engine is, so much low down grunt it makes it reach for the sky all the time. I am limited to 6000 rpm until first service, but even up to 6000rpm the front wheel wants to lift all the time.

    Did i mention launch controll?

Comming from sport bikes, this is so much more comfy, usable, updated etc than my blade.

WTF? What an innovation! Have you twigged how they work? Once the lean angle is over maybe?

You sound like a 10-year-old with a first bike for Christmas. Sounds like a great machine.

I'm holding back on my 'opinions' at the moment;), but for me, and only me, I couldn't imagine being comfortable on my Blade over a 500 km trip. I'd enjoy it of course, but have nowhere near the comfort you've described. Cheers!!

Nigelrb, it is a really good bike, and i love it. I was like a kid in the candy store when i first bought it and rode it, its amazing.

Maybe the auto cancelling turn signals are not a huge thing, but small touches like that makes a bike. Back lit switch gear? Love it.

This is how it works :-

"Greater safety and convenience with the automatic indicator reset, making forgotten indicators after turning or overtaking a thing of the past. Automatic reset after 10 s and a distance travelled of 150 m. The counter is halted while the vehicle is at a standstill"

I've got it on my KTM - worth having!

Cheers Ian. Great innovation. I hadn't heard of it before, but it's such a logical and relatively simple piece of wizardry.

I had the self-cancelling indicators on my Honda VFR800 which were (mostly) great.

The exception to this was on motorways and continental autoroutes - sometimes you might need to keep your indicators on for a lot longer as 150 metres is nothing at motorway speeds. I found that quite often my indicators had cancelled before I had started or completed the move. Example - waiting for opportunity to move cross lanes in busy fast moving motorway traffic, and find the indicators have stopped automatically.

I had to really watch out for that and often had to start them flashing again.

Interesting. As I have often said, I had been out of the scene for quite a while so was not aware Honda had used the technology but not carried it through the range. Perhaps it is now (revised) on the Gold Wing as that seems to have everything that Honda offers.

Understand the frustration though with the early cancelling. Guess I'll remain happy with my manually operated by arthritic fingers:D.

Ah, with all you guys buying KTMs and BMWs, I no longer feel 'disloyal' owning an MV on a Honda forum!;)
