Yes it happened to me, same old people, same Radar gun and same letter, but they got it wrong, I still got the stupid letter. Let me explain, approaching a 30 mph zone from s 50mph, I hit 30 mph (on my speedo, which over reads by 5%, GPS checked) just before the 30 mph sign Started, so went I to the zone at 28mph and I drove past they wagged their Finger as if I had done something wrong, I thought, stupid buggers, I was not speeding, but got that letter anyway? How the hell is it my fault if they have bad 3D depth perception And can't not tell where I was in relation to the sign? It's would be stupid if three such cases turned I to a fine?
I can tell you 100% they were proper cops not some oldies with high viz on, and the number of police cars over there was scary enough...its a program probably but followed by actual police aswell and yes it is the Roadwatch scheme as it says on the letter which also says my speed and time and where...etc so must be a different approach tried by the police I guess either way I'm happy
I wonder how impartial these community 'do-gooders' might be when they clock the speed of a local respected resident?
What they don't like is when they themselves get caught. A few years ago a few of these do gooders (who were alos the biggest moaners about excess speed) were trained to operate the equipment, and who were the first to be caught? Yep, you got it... About 3 or 4 of these same self rightous do gooders. And what made it worse was that they weren't just a few MPH over in a 30 but 20 - 25. Suffice to say that little project didn't last long. Sorry to digress, but I always found that bit of hypocricy funny
