Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and I need an advice Recently I purchased a 2004 cbr1000rr, all genuine with no mods and look almost new with 48K km on it. Somehow, the bike feels like 750 and not like it should be. It revs to 11k so I don't think it's the secondary injectors (?) Any ideas ? Thanks!
Check the air filter for infestation of insects/spiders etc. 2004 is great bike. Welcome to the forum, by the way.
Thanks. Its a great bike, I love it. My last one was a 95 ZX9R and this is my firs Honda after many Kawasaki's Suzuki's and few Yamaha bikes. I will change also the spark plugs as the manual suggest every 48k
it can't hurt to do a tune-up on the bike. Change the oil, plugs, filter, etc. Check the coolant as well, often people neglect the coolant!
Had mine changed on my RR4 very recently. Tech installed Iridium. Perhaps I'm a sucker for the soft sell, but as a road rider only, I can't feel any difference. My point is that I'm not sure if they're worth the extra money - just in case you might be considering them. I hope others will offer opinions on this. Track guys especially: @thewiz , @SimonRR ?
I thought I'd read that 2018 SP2 has Iridium, but Owner's Manual says: NGK SILMAR10C9S whereas the 'standard and SP' Blade has: IMR9E-9HES. Still can't find out if they're Iridium or not.
TBH mate, if it feels like a 750 then I would check the throttle cable is still connected to the engine, either that or you ain't twisting the right hand grip fully............... Welcome to the forum
Thanks guys, Tomorrow I will have some time to inspect the spark plugs and throttle, to see if all is correct I will change the plugs anyway, as per the manual. I did change the oil, filters etc' right after purchasing the bike. It's a beautiful machine!
Well, I can't say... Done only 1.5K on it. I ordered new ones, tomorrow will change it and only premium fuel.
Yes, look like. But I wonder how it can be lean with computerized factory-installed system with no tweaks Maybe air filters block? Maybe secondary injectors set not working at a high RPM?
