Hi there. New member here. Picking up my 2012 white Blade on Saturday. 21k miles on the clock which is more than I would like. However it's in amazing condition and only has one owner who has regularly maintained and serviced it. Never ridden a 1000cc bike. Last bike was a Gixxer 600 which I had 8 years ago. Previous to that I had a Kawasaki ZX9R. Super excited about getting it although slightly anxious. After so long not riding sportsbikes it's gonna take me a little while to build up confidence and getting used to the power.
Next to the Repsol colour scheme white is most definitely my next colour choice, get the wheels painted white. Welcome
Cheers. I would actually rather get some more red colouring on the bike. I've already bought red wheel rim tape.
Hi and welcome. You'll be fine on the blade, just take it steady, no need to go mad straight away. They are awesome bikes so just enjoy.
Hello and welcome to the site! Post some pictures when you have the bike, as is required by regulation #02055-HRC.
I've just arrived back with it. Very happy. One slight annoyance is the pillion pegs. I have no intention of having pillions and want to remove them as I think they look a bit of an eyesore. Having googled how to remove them it looks a right pain in the arse and I dont have the tools to do it.
There's some members tips on removing them on here somewhere. If it's non abs it's quicker. Should only cost about an hours labour if you know a cheap friendly garage It's worth fitting Sato hooks too in case you need to put them on again quick or use as tie down point
Lots of helpful info on this thread. Plus a link to a guy who's supplied quite a few of us with hooks if you need them https://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/uk-made-racing-hooks-sato-replica.34947/
Just been for a spin on the bike. Have to be honest, it didn't feel massively different to my 07 Gixxer 600. Still a great ride though and the bike is stunning. Just need to get rid of those aweful pillion pegs. I do have a bit of a sore neck and sore wrists. Hope I get used to that.
That's a good shout to take it to a garage and get them to do it. May do that. Not gonna bother with whatever those Sato hooks are as I'm never gonna be carrying pillions and my insurance doesnt cover pillion use anyway.
I thought that when coming from my 636 but u prob ride at a decent pace too, use all the throttle andu should notice, plus u wont see that light telling u change up, them 600cc are fast, get a ecu tune and it'll be sweet
