Headed off to the Land of The Rising Sun. No not Japan but rather the East Coast. Currently sat in Cleethorpes having headed up from Mablethorpe, and am now trying to warm up at Starbucks with a coffee before heading to the Woods then home. Left early to avoid the Bank Holiday traffic and decided not to wear the tinted visor as it wasn't quite so sunny as recently. Bad decision, sun was low, bright and bouncing off the damp patches that remained from yesterday's rain. Tried sunglasses but they kept steaming up so just had to squint lots until the sun was higher and I wasn't heading so easterly. Worth it though Think I need to get some heated grips sorted, oh yeah and pinlock for the shades
A new boyfriend who lived out near Grimsby once took me to Cleethorpes as a surprise as I'd never been Well it was certainly a surprise.... Suffice to say there was no second date
@Lozzy I only go to Starbucks there for a coffee, some nice houses there though around the few roads I go around there. Bastard council have ripped up the road to Caistor High Street and used a mountain of grit. Like riding through the Valleys the tracks are that surrounded by embankments. Bloody ridiculous.
Well why not rip the roads up at bank holiday busy time lol...makes perfect sense I only remember being parked up on a promenade bit?!? ....for what seemed an eternity.....looking at a sort of nuclear haze hanging over the Humber!
Changed the oil, cleaned the calipers and bled brakes - ready for our trip to Misano leaving next Tuesday. Can’t wait!
I took this one out. What have I been missing? I might sell my Blades and buy a collection of VTRs. What a magnificent machine, although somewhat of a dinosaur by present standards. For me (at 5'9") it is ergonomically perfect, and it handles like a dream, even with the 'crap' forks (thanks Mr @roboticus ). Hasn't got OEM pipes, and I don't know what's on it. They are a tad loud but not annoyingly so. Great note on these bikes especially on overrun. Because of lower revs, speed is very deceptive and easy to get caught out by doing 20 mph more than what I thought. Also, the revs and gear ratios are all out of whack compared to the Blades, so choosing corner entry gears is a bit hit-and-miss at the moment. Damn fuel light came on at 96 miles despite the previous owner telling me he filled it. I'll know soon enough how thirsty it is. As forecast by selected members, yes, I have spent NEARLY more time cleaning than riding, but it is now looking the part!
15.8 litre tank (per Owner's Manual, which I'm fortunate to have). Put 13.24 litres in it this morning after doing 10 miles with fuel light on. Since it's my 'favourite' bike at the moment, I'll probably have to fill again tomorrow - if it's not raining!! Will keep you posted.
Been out for a quick run while it was dry then whipped out the rear ready for a new tyre , 50 or 55 can't make my mind up
I wouldn't go quite that far! Best analogy would be like a half-inflated life raft in a choppy sea. Wallows a bit. But when you've engaged in matrimonial relations on a saggy Argos Inner Spring with a spouse who had a penchant for eating, you learn to handle and counteract life's difficulties. Sorry I'm so deep, I have SUCH a hard time trying to explain myself!!
Wow! Keeping the cleaning standards a little high. Friggin' excellent work. I gotta take a good hard look at myself!
Had a damn scare with a front wheel slip taking on a familiar roundabout. No idea what caused it, perhaps crap on the road because I wasn't over any further than usual. No big deal for the track boys; I've had rears go before but never front. Makes me applaud more and more the efforts of Marquez and others when dealing with their metre-long front slides.
Fitted this. Cheers for the quick shipping @davedunlop Harder that you would think to fit. Honda don't half over engineer things. Thankfully a mate has fitted a few recently so done it for me.
I thought that, how the fuck does that fit, doh, I nearly bought it, then when u offered that, I thought I would of payed that, dam, would of looked better on my black bike to
