I have a action camera for track days. I found a RAM ball mount adapter that fits the GoPro case. I put the clear screen back on the bike and mounted the camera right behind the screen, via the RAM nount I normally use for my iPhone. Should make for a good view!
@Muffking know lots of different mounting places. Check some of his vid posts as he has some interesting camera angles.
So I had my second trackday on the fireblade yesterday. Set my gopro up on the helmet and it came out pretty well. There is a lot of wind noise because I didn't have time to set up the microphone inside my helmet. Here is a quick clip of one lap around Dubai Autodrome, National Circuit configuration.
Yep, came up alright. Seemed to be a bit of dust/sand kicked up by the two bikes in front on a sweeping left-hander. I guess the first few laps would be with extreme caution!
That worked ok. Don't think helmet mounting is allowed on the UK circuits, but the trackday boys will be able to say for definite.
It was so far into the fairing that it wasn't really an issue, but the LED screen on the cam kept popping on and was a bit of a distraction. It is not ideal, for sure. Next season I'll have a better mounting scheme.
Thanks, yep thats right, we are in a desert after all so first couple sessions we gotta take it easy until the circuit cleans up. Awesome day tho, looking forward to the next few events as weather cools down. It was about 32 degrees and then got to around 38 toward the last session lol.
