Howdo all. I did join another blade forum - and once the activation had been approved and you wait a month for your first post to be moderated i kinda gave up - so here i am Anyway names Paul, and live on the edge of north wales / cheshire. Currently own a bit of a rare old Evo blade which i have wanted since i first saw one at the NEC many years back. I did also own a lovely Lapis blue RRX back in 2001 but sold it for a 916 to slow me down (which it did - to around pushing speed) Got a few other older interesting bits and bobs and while you new modern blades are awesome bits of kit - i just don't get giddy about them or the thought of owning one sadly. Perhaps one day i may. Anyway - what are we all drinking around here then ?
hi Crm,welcome and if your in the chair mine's a stella, picture of the Evo would also go down nicely.
Pics of the Evo of course. Perhaps it needs a thread of its own, but in short, purchased off a pal after it being sat unused for around 10 years and with 800 miles on the clock. Needed minor work to recommission and its not perfect, a few blemishes and bit of patina. But it came with all the options including pillion seat and panels, jacket, stand, gearing, pipe etc etc #21 of 26 Purchased to use - not to sit and polish and keep in some air tight dungeon - like the rest of my bikes, used as intended.
Cheers Guys. Its been a fun project but not quite over yet. Its only just done 1000 miles from new and clearly still needs a bit of specialist fettling on the FCR41's as it can bog from time to time on part to full throttle. It does however go remarkably well. Sadly the thing handles like a shopping trolley on ice - and keeps running wide. The rear Ohlins is devoid of any damping and seems to bounce around like a cheap football. I took it out this weekend around north wales - but after 40 miles i felt it prudent to take it home and get something else out as the handling was starting to get a bit scary. A trip to maxton with the forks and shock soon i think.
