Tracking 2014 non ABS blade

    Hi - I'm waiting for delivery of my 2014 Blade (SP non ABS), I will be using it on track & occasionally on road, just wondering if anyone else is doing the same, looking for advice on what to take off the bike to save weight? best crash protection? best race fairings? best sat unit? Anyone running on a daytime only MOT on theirs? best replacement silencer (lightweight but passes any track sound limit test)? Cheers

    thanks for all the input, I didn't think that many SP owners would track their bike, now I'm spoilt for choice on how to proceed...!!:)

    I track my '16 SP, but have not dedicated it to track duty so I just tape it up and go.

    Not on the SP, but on my track only GSXR I have, as well as my Suzi motard.

    In fact, that's why the SP was tracked this past season, the GSXR is in boxes strewn about my garage..lol

    numerous fairing kits around, you only need a horn and number plate for the mot ( you get advisories on the test, no such this as a daylight MOT ). as for weight saving there are subframes etc from HRC that are lighter but for trackdays is it worth the effort. GB racing engine covers and a race can that will take a baffle, i have an arrow which without a baffle is 110db !!!!!

    its a normal mot but with advisories, 'vehicle presented without lights or reflector'. some insist in the removal of the switch gear that operates the lights

    I track mine, 2014 SP non-ABS like yours. However, I live in Aus and the sound standards might be different. I ride mine every day so I did't do the dedicated track build.

    So, what I have done to mine:

    Firstly, I am tall and big so I got a better windscreen - I can get my helmet touching the tank cover but it's just not tall enough. There's heaps out there.
    Second, I put levers and pegs on it that are adjustable. Again, heaps out there.
    For the zorst I put an Akra S-H10SO14T-HTC on it. It has a link pipe and rids the bike of the exhaust system almost completely, the cat is in the pipe ahead of it but everything else is gone. It retains the exhaust flap but at the track that'll generally be open. Drops a lot of weight. At the local track I *think* the sound test limit is 95db. It just scraped in, being read on the straight where I'd be in 4th at 250ish KPH.
    I have a K&N street filter in it, that definitely made a difference.
    I also bought some Chinese air tubes, opened them up and removed the air intake restriction doors. It improves the bike at low RPM and makes it sound a little nicer.

    Of course, setup your suspension.

    If I am running the bike in the wet season here but still want the odd track day, I'll have Q3s or S21s on it. If it's dry and there's a lot of track days coming up I'll run Supercorsas.

    I don't yet have a fuel controller but I think it's the next step.
