hi all , went out today bike was fine and love the hm quickshifter , anyway got home bike was stood for about an hour , then I went to start it to put it away and it wouldn't start , it turned over a few times then u got click click, nothing so I'm thinking it could be the alarm draining the battery , so I'm looking how to remove a datatool s4 green. anybody done this and give me any advice , thanks.
That sounds more like the alternator not charging or a duff battery. Are you able to check the battery voltage while it's running and then monitor it when it's stood?
I cant get it started , I checked it standing 13.09 , ign on 11.89 , when starter pressed 9.25 , cheers.
Your standing voltage looks ok, but drops too low the higher the load, probably because the battery is pretty flat. Can you get enough charge in to fire it up and check the running voltage?
You need to remove the tank cover, then there are two bolts to remove and then the tank will lift up. Prop it up with a bit of wood whilst you locate the alarm plug. Then just drop it back down and refit screws once done.
find the alarm which is normally in the tail section and then just trace the wire back. Mine was a white plug.
I have a solar charger with regulator on mine due to having an alarm these cost about £20 ,, I would be gutted if I removed the alarm and the bike was stolen.
cheers mate because ive just put a new battery on and the bike seems fine now but I don't want to be paying money for new batterys all the time.
Hi I'm trying to find an answer for removal datatool s4 red from my CBR1000rr sc59 2010, but I simply can't maybe I'm looking wrong. I have the alarm unit unplugged, and it seems that alarm is plugged either to imo or fuel pump as the pump doesn't make any sound when ignition is on, bike is cranking but fuel is not being pumped. Does any one have datatool s4 red plug cable layout?
I had the 3 on my r1, The red plug you have removed it from will need following back this is part of the alarm system, They cut the wires then run them through the alarm, the datatool wires will all be black but the bike ones will be colour coded, It is just a matter of identifying where all the black wires go then re joining the cut circuits, normally they will be same colour and close to each other. hope this helps
Hi guy, it's all sorted. That "smart person" so called professional installer of datatool alarms didn't connect alarm to anything to prevent it from starting the bike when armed... Ehh I'm speechless the pump wasn't working probably because ecu needed a few moments to recognise the pump because its all good. I've left plug without jumper /blanking plug, as it's not necessary. Indicators are working, bike fires up. Everything works. Not to mention how many things on my bike that pro installer broke, undertray for battery is broken in 4 places. Everywhere where he was routing cables. Conclusion I will not give my bike anymore to any pro installer /garage. But I'm just happy bike is all good. Thank you for your interest and help.
