Im using a cbr 1000rr 2012 Using HM Quickshifter Mechanic told me to only use the qs when rpm is 7 and above But recently my qs is going crazy its totally not smooth and its like im riding a horse and while riding my bike will eventually switch off. Even when im in neutral gear the lcd of the qs keep showing me SHIFT. Sensitive is 100 and the other one is 60 Im using normal gear up shift 2,3,4,5,6 But idk why its is showing E which is for race shift correct me if im wrong would really appreciate if anyone could resolve my problem asap
Pretty sure from memory that you can change the setting from race to normal shift in the menus, also the sensitivity being 100 might be making it get false changes, can't remember what mines set to but it's pretty high. Did you have it running properly since fitting? Could be a bad earth as said above, maybe a broken wire or fitting come loose? I earthed mine to the main earth on the bike under the air box
Oh yeah and I use mine at any revs with no issues at all long as I'm on the throttle it's silky smooth
I bought the bike from the buyer initially everything was smooth with the current calibration on the qs. But recently everything is not ride my bike keep dying due to the qs. What is the standard sensitivity on the bike?
I think mine's around 80, can't be definite though I've not looked at it since I set it up to be honest. If it was ok before then I dare say it'll be the earth or somethings come unplugged. If your competent with spanners it's a simple enough job to check, tank and air box off you should be able see everything you need to. 8 plugs on the spark plug caps then an earth that runs to near your battery. I'd check the earth first as you should be able check that before taking the air box off depending where they earthed it.
I got a 2006 Blade and have the exact same problem. My shift pattern is correct, but i got every few seconds "shift" in the Display and the Ignition is cut, like in a shift. But there is no. I even didnt touch the lever. At the moment i am in contact with HM, but no luck so far. I will keep you up to date. And i have to set my sensivity at least up to 90%, better 100%. If not, there is no shifting possible. You cant effort the force with your foot, to let the sensor react. Really weird..... After many different tests, the HMSS Quickshifter is send to HM for further investigation.......We willsee!
The shifter is back and HM told me, its totally fine. Nothing wrong with it, funktion is perfect. The reason for this should be electrical noise, coming somewhere from my bike. They say, there are few bikes with this problem, but no makes or Types. Some do it, the most do not. Maybe its some of my other parts interfere, but i think i will sell it. To much of work, to find out.
i have the same, the sensitivity is set to 50, with the shift time set to 65ms. My guess is that you are getting spurious shift commands because the sensitivity is set too high. Reading the manual, HM themselves recommend setting around 50 ish. As for shifting RPM, i use mine throughout the rev range, it works fine. The other reason it could be lurchy is because the shift time is too long. 65ms is a middle of the line all round time i find with mine.
Yeah, you are right about the sensivity. But if i set it lower than 85 or 90 percent, the sensor wont react to a shift. The force i have to use at lower than 80% is too high. You cant reach it , even with your foot! It sounds unbelivable, but its true. Only over 85% it is possible to shift and this causes the ghost shifting. So, i`m stuck. I will relate the orignal shiftlever with my aftermarket one this weekend. Hope, i find something.....
thats weird, mine set to 50 is almost too sensitive for me, i find the touch only has to be light. How is yours set up? there cant be much difference between your set up and mine, and on much the same bike too, mines an 05. when you set it up, with just the ignition on, does the sensitivity actually change, does the shift icon on the display come on earlier or later? I wonder if something it causing some binding somewhere.
Just re reading your first post, do you actually have the race set up? 1 up and 5 down? because if you dont, and the QS is set for it, then its not going to like it much Further to that, try it, try pressing the gear lever down, see if that gives you a shift symbol, if it does, see if the sensitivity changes with the settings.
No race pattern, just normally. 1st down, others up. I will try Sunday , check everything and new setup. Will keep you updated.
i've got confused, you are not the OP! OP you need to change your settings so that you have C showing on the display, you seem to currently have E according to your post, and this would mean it wont work correctly in normal set up. Change the settings to the standard settings, C 50% sensitivity and 65ms cut, see how that works. Shockwave, sorry, my advice to you is wrong!! however, it wouldnt hurt to re set it and check the set up.
