Hi all, Covered before possibly so apologies! Had my 2013 Blade from new , currently 3500 miles, mostly no limits track days.... considering selling bike so gradually putting back to original spec etc. Already done the oil change and have started on the radiator flush/ change. Not been changed since new...... Obviously designed by someone who doesn’t want owners to DIY. Having flushed the system out several times, I can only get 2 litres in. No doubt the other litre is in the lower part of the radiator . I can either take the radiator out( sod that) or turn the bike upside down( sod that too! ) to get rid of this 1litre ish of now distilled water.....what a crap design of the radiator! Thinking of filling up system with what I know will be 2 litres of anti freeze ( ready mixed from my Hoanda dealer) until it comes to the top of the filler cap, then running it until the fan comes on, draining 1 litre of the new fluid and then topping up with 1 litre of the same ready mix antifreeze. Any thoughts or will the 2 litres ready mixed from dealer ( Yamaha stuff 50/50) be sufficiently ok even though it will be getting diluted with the 1 litre already stuck inside the lower radiator/ engine etc which I can’t be arsed to get out. Don’t even start me off on the overflow bottle location......WTF were the designers thinking of! ( syringe and 5mm hose sorted for this one !) thanks for any constructive advice in advance

Just popped into my Honda dealer and spoke to a technician, who said that it’s not a problem putting 2 litres of 50/50 ready mix in if that’s all it will take., even if it gets diluted with the remaining water ...it’s what they do. I may Just fill the system , run it again until the fan comes on and then as I have a spare litre, just draina litre when cold and then add that 1 litre. Thanks for replying. Ride safe.
