Speed camera vans now pick up non conforming plates on their anpr & issue a fine. A few have had tickets on here...think it's £100.

That’s a good point. I’ve had mostly 6x4 and despite being pulled I’ve never been fined for numberplates.
didn’t realise that ANPR can read the size of the plate. I think I’m general where I live in the West Midlands the Police don’t really bother unless it’s either unreadable, a one liner, or if you’re doing something stupid.

Yes I've never had any issues with my smaller plate's in face to face encounters. But unfortunately the camera vans are automatic. I know @Stevie_d got a postal ticket from one up Yorkshire way the other year. When we were riding up there I used to get the other half to ride up my arse as a blocker if we spotted one, as he'd a standard plate lol.
I guess if you only ever get a few tickets in a lifetime though and you x it by the miles you do the cost is probably infinitesimal for the joy of not having a billboard ruining the look :D

Hmm you’re worrying me now. I love the look of the 6x4 but I’m seriously considering 7x5 now. Getting fined every time you get caught by ANPR can’t be fun! But then I guess anything less than the legal size will get caught. On that basis, I’ll go with 6x4 and keep my fingers crossed :D

I'm happy to stick with my 8 x 6. Still big, but doesn't attract attention - unlike myself:D.

Another J-tech tailtidy ordered. Best place to get a new plate? Thinking 7x5 black or carbon backed
