PBM Ducati V4 exhaust arrangement?

    The new V4 is a beautiful bike no doubt about it!

    Not quite sure about this exhaust arrangement, thoughts please? o_O

    I love pipes on show and only recently expressed that in a discussion about the Taylor Made's.

    In this case though, it just looks wrong. Sure, it would be functional, but there's just no symmetry.

    I'm big on appearances. Owning this would be like dating a woman with one high heel and one flat shoe!:rolleyes:

    I too love the look of the new v4 but That doesn’t look right at all even if it’s all about the gains it produces? There must be something nicer than that still to try?

    They're not using that in WSBK, even the road bike doesn't use that monstrosity!!:rolleyes:

    That happened in BSB last time with the last model pipes were tried everywhere to get the balance of the bike right...I would not want to ride one without the electronics on it...

    Bring back the days when Superbikes looked and were not far off what you bought in the dealers. The modern era WSBs and BSBs are far beyond. No wonder the racing grids are dwindling.

    It is an interesting look and for what I know about exhausts, I would have thought that arrangement would compromise performance (see I told you that I know nothing) as this is going to be by far the fastest bike on the grid in BSB, as it has already shown in WSB. That said I quite like the look.

    It's understandable that the length of pipe is critical to the tune of the bike.

    Those of us with Yoshis and Arrow too I think, have this weird semi-circle link pipe that looks as if it would affect performance - but who are we to argue with the likes of technical research? Interestingly, Racefit does not have such an abomination of plumbing beneath the Blades.

    The s bend is to house a catalyst and reduce noise/emissions as the race version of above mentioned also the akra is just a straight piece of pipehence much louder and free flowing

    Pbm are using a different pipe to wsb because of circuit noise limits in UK I had read . Hence that mess hanging off the bike. I think they should look like road bike really maybe slightly longer or shorter exhaust for performance but generally the same . It's not a prototype class for.

    My mate has one but it just has the standard pipes I would constantly take the piss if his looked like that :p:p

    As mentioned i saw Moto rapido have the same is to make the new BSB limits of 107db wsbk is 110db FYI a road going V4s with acropovic is 110db.....
