i swapped a 1965 650 BSA A10 (if i remember right) for two bmw isetta bubble cars non runner's,and sold them to buy a 650 S panther with sidecar, for £25.fecking great fun blasting around on that thing. you'd shit yourself going to quick around a left hander, when the chair comes up.
Ive had a couple of bargains 1981 GPZ550 for £80, CBR750 £50 ebay, and the last one CX500 eurosport for £350 with a electrical fault cost a couple of hour to sort and that my runabout its great.
My first ever bike was a 50cc bogger and i paid 3 quid and a fishing reel for it, it didnt run because someone had put it together with no knowledge about valve timing. A haynes manual and a rebuild later and i pushed my Dad down the drive to bump start it, it fired immediately and he shot off with no exhaust or brakes with the throttle stuck wide open. He managed to throw it onto the front lawn, took out two rose bushes and put a crack in the garden wall. I was told in no uncertain terms to "F**k it off across the fields". I was 13 at the time and had never heard him swear before. Road bikes? It must be the Z200 single i bought in '83 for £75. The Honda Bali i bought for my lad last year was also £75. I also bought a V50 Yamaha 2 stroke bogger for £13 when i was about 14, my Dad nicked it to go to work on and gave me his Motobecane Mobylette to use across the fields, it was crap.
I got my 1st bike (1987 Kawasaki AR50) for free. The only snag was it came as a rolling chassis and 5 boxes of bits. 2nd Bike (Aprilia AF1) cost me £900 Sent from my BlackBerry 9780 using Tapatalk
