Unfortunately due to a shortage of space I can't store my blade in the garage, its currently in someone else's. But for the summer I was thinking of parking outside with a good cover and wanted to know of any advice on a good cover please????
Oxford do a pretty robust all weather cover....the one I had was called stormex I think but it may have changed names now. It is/was fleece lined with retaining strap and necessary holes for chains. Did a great job. EDIT: here's the new version https://www.oxfordproducts.com/motorcycle/brands/oxford/covers/oxford_stormex_cover/
bikehome isn't bad its a metal frame like a tent so it doesn't touch the bike , and it folds up , I used one of these for a while until I got it in the house
As a budget cover or secondary protection, the BEST for waterproofing is the protective plastic from a new mattress. Bedding shops are generally happy to give these away because it saves their skip/recycling space. The double bed size is perfect for total coverage and only needs be secured with a couple of occy straps. Pics to illustrate. I also use blue plastic tarp clipped to the fence:
I found medium a fraction too tight (2012) despite what the measurements suggest. So I went for a large size. Currently, if I didn’t have the conservatory to put the bike in... I’d be tempted to construct some sort of lean to just to keep majority of this damn rain off the bike (along with cover).
Yep, I also recommend large, especially if you park the bike with the bars turned in. Coincidentally, I just price a conservatory last week. (2.5 x 3.5m) Was quoted 10k and that's before flooring and blinds/curtains etc. For me, a bit expensive when it would be just for bikes. I should just invest in a proper steel mini garage as has been shown on here before. A lean to is a good budget alternative though, especially if bike can remain on stands over winter.
Don’t go for a Tin shed nigel My mate had one for his cough cough Harley and is used to condensate up
Quite impressed with this, although a bit expensive for what it is. Only needs a dehumidifier to control moisture. http://www.asgardsss.co.uk/extended-motorcycle-storage/motorcycle-storage-garage-plus
Don’t do it nigel He got his off eBay Someone had the contract to get them off the caravan site at skeggy and sell them
