Some basic questions: 1. Do you enjoy riding your bike, get pleasure from simply looking at it, just getting it out and giving it a clean/polish? 2. Is owning it causing financial hardship (i.e. should you be better prioritising on a roof over you/your families head, clothing, food, etc) If your answers are yes and no respectively then what the hell - you’re only here once, money is for spending and life is for living. If not ..............sell up and do one
be fun to work out how much your bikes cost you, or do you expect to sell for profit and make money? Taking my bikes cost, sale prices, fuel, insurance, road tax, mot and misc items, my R1 works out at less than £1 per mile, £23 seems a bit expensive?

Cheers Simon. I'll work on that later. An interesting exercise, to be sure. By the way, £23.00 would represent a very low mileage bike, which is probably the case with the V4S. (Again I profess my lacking maths skills)
I've lost far more on bikes than I've gained, financially, but mentally the profit has far outweighed any other consideration. In fact, the only bikes I made money on were the V4S and my RC51's.
Went on a week long ride with the club earlier this month. Up to the mountains (Adirondacks Lake George area). That's me on the 4th bike from the front on the right side, riding my Harley.
I live in London with fiancé but she’s a yank and we might be relocating to Tampa area in the next couple years.. not the best for (sports)bike riding but at least there’s more sun than the UK..!
I lived in Florida (Jacksonville/Mayport area) for 12 years. It is a great place for sportbikes. You have Jennings GP in Florida. World class track. Not many twisties in Tampa, but you're not far from them. The weather will more than make up for it. https://jenningsgp.com/index.html

Just use mine as a daily commuter, so rain, ice, snow... makes the nice weather (when/if it gets here) all the more enjoyable!

I was thinking I was low mileage, at 200 miles but seems may not be the case. Bikes are basically gambling, you just hope you are going to get good days on your days off. you watch the forecast all week, and hope like me tomorrow on your day off the sun will shine, Yorkshire TT for me tomorrrow
Yep I will put another load of miles on tomorrow, taken the day off work just for that, keeps my costs down to £1 per mile and miles of fun
Who's idea was this? Constructing a super-duper spreadsheet covering purchase and all costs, with a breakdown into cost per month, per mile etc. Will post up a graphic later today. In the meantime, I gotta get a bike out - good weather in W. Mids .
