Pretty sure i know the answer to this one, but anyone had any luck selling their heavily modded blades? I've the '06 model and its fairly obvious that nobody will pay top dollar for what essentially is a 13 year old bike, no matter how fancy the goodies are on it. Guessing stripping the bike of the toys is about the only way to get some of your money back?

The last couple advertised on here were stripped of goodies and sold separately.;)

Many 06s for sale as well, but seem to be in the £2900 to £3500 average.

What’s the reason for thinking of selling?

I kept all my OEM bits as I modded my blade and now same with my R1, stripped back to OEM and sold all the upgrades, made more money that way, if you have time break the bike, make even more money that way but far more time consuming

I’d definitely be interested in a few trick parts for my rr7 if you go down the stripping route?

I'd be interested in knowing how much you would want for it, as is.

How much weight was shed from the machine after these mods?

Sounds daft but my blade was cheaper than anything else at the time when I bought it and was similar to yours with loads of trick bits on it. If you get the right buyer at the right time you could get strong money, but most will prefer OEM with maybe a few mods. And if you sell it as a complete bike too cheap someone else will just buy it and brake it anyway.

Think back to standard is the way if you want to maximise how much money you can get.

The wheels, brakes and suspension on mine would have cost more than I paid for the complete bike.

Have those carbon wheels made noticeable difference to handling?

I'll pre-empt the answer by stating that they make a massive difference; my opinion based on having forged Marchesinis on my 2018 Blade compared to the standards on my 2011 Blade.

Haha i remember the first day they were on, and the first proper corner from my house is a big roundabout.. but a nice left to a faster road. I went round it like a 50p piece, was shocked how easy the bike turned.. they do make a difference for sure..
