Really interesting chat about pricing, what are peoples’ views of the second hand Fireblade market since the new model prices have soared with all the electronics on them now... am I wrong in thinking this must help second hand prices? .... be gentle!
Normally it would help, but 0% finance and the fact you can buy a brand new one for around £120/mth is killing them, Sp prices have collapsed as just not viable unless a cash buyer, once the cost of interest is added back on.. sportsbikes arw a dying breed, look around the coffee shops, prob 10% are sports bikes...that said an 08 blade was worth £5k 5 yrs ago and still is...
Interesting, hadn’t realised the 0% apr was running on the Blade. See dealers selling really low mileage 08-09 for 6.5k but they offer warranty. Think I’ve over priced mine!
Its a nice bike and quite unique with that mileage, i sold my 09 Repsol earlier this year with 13k miles for £5200. Exhaust, tail tidy, asv levers, a bit of history etc. Id say £5900 and hope £5600ish bit just my view.. ive seen Fireblades sat in dealers all year at a silly price
Get real, @Stuish . You just don't understand my 'Mensa' level of intelligence: the left handedness proves that all clicks are not created equal. Hi and welcome. Sorry to disappoint; not selling until next year - unless, of course, you had something in particular in mind for this very special, superbly maintained bike with Yoshi R7, tail tidy, HEL lines front and rear, OEM HRC fairings potentially included, Oxford heated grips, dealer performed 16,000 service (the important one) etc:
i sold my bike last month for £4450, 08 plate, and second set of fairings, 20k on the clock, its a case of waiting for the right person. wish i had it back now Pete
advertised on Ebay, chap come and looked and bought it, loaded it up on his trailer, you just need someone looking for one in the right location. I loved the bike bike a few health issues means it would not be used. Pete
Its a mine field selling certain bikes, the 08 has to be special and a minter to attract the right buyers, I looked at a MINT 09 HRC 9k miles and I could of had it at £4850 completely standard and spotless. I have sold 4 bikes in the last 3 weeks (having a clear out) if its the right bike and priced right it WILL sell. Personally I wouldn't of looked twice at your bike changed fairings, engine case savers etc etc I would think the worst. Hang in there it will sell everything does eventually GLWS
Had someone offer £4500 today but he wanted the exhaust and oem fairings in the price .. I tried negotiating at around £4800 but he said he had to rent a van etc so the cost was too much
I had a guy try to crunch me for that very reason. I do the reverse psychology and offer to deliver because I can rent a van, as I have done for my last 3 purchases and sales, for £50 per day (weekday) unlimited mileage. You'll soon discover how serious they are then!!
The fact i have OEM fairings boxed up in brilliant condition & photos of them on the bike shouldnt put them off surely? They are exact fairings that came on the bike , even have distinctive parts on them aswell to tell they are the ones that were on the bike
And just but protecting my engine casing with r&g covers aswell , silly really, i should just take them off and take new photo’s. But clearly can see ive stealthed the bike Out by even having rearsets sprayes it has im suprised noone on here has spotted the cable tie around forks
it has im suprised noone on here has spotted the cable tie around forks[/QUOTE] All that says to me is it’s had the suspension set up to which it might be to you favour mentioning what weight it’s been done for

I would not buy another bike fitted with engine case after taking one off a bike I bought you quessed it it had been down the road and engine case saver was put on to cover it up. Also my pet hate odd random stickers stuck on a bike 9 times out of 10 theres a bad mark under it.
