Evening ! I've just changed my suspension on the bike and it feels 100% better and feels like it's my bike now, but I still need to up the rear shock by one ridge but can't seem to get at it with any sense. I don't have a c spanner but it looks like it will shift with what spanners I have but wouldn't mind some advise as to how too position the bike to enable the suspension change if anyone can help please.
Ugh. Its a bit of a cow to get to, but yeah, without a C-Spanner you will have no chance from my experience. Also with the position of the adjuster, if you can get it on a work bench, it makes it 10 times easier. I also found that mine would not budge, and talking to the local wrench monkey, he recommended that I douse the rings in WD40 several times over a few days prior to even trying to get them to move. Even then I had to persuade the damn thing to move with a small hammer and a chisel in the notch (I don't suppose thats a good technique, but was the only thing that got it to free up). TBH, if I had known what a total cow of a job it would be, I'd happily have thrown 50 quid at the suspension guy to set it up for me.
I'm planning on taking mine to K-tech suspension to get it set up. i don't think it's far off tbh. I did set it back to factory but it was horrible. So put it back to how it was ..
The proper spanner is not very expensive and a necessary bit if you plan on wrenching on your own bikes. I would say invest in the proper tool. Like @bazzashadow ..he's a proper tool.
Ok thanks guys. Point taken get the right tools ! Without me going to the manual that I haven't down loaded would anyone know what size c - spanner ?
