So basically by seeing the Akrapovic instructions the CAT never comes out it connect right after it, the only thing is the cat is a lot smaller than the R1's for sure... By looking at videos online you still get a decent noise with the cat on.. happy days I supposed.
I haven't not it buddy, I only pick up the bike next week but I'm already looking to get rid of the OEM exhaust and I'm looking for answers like you. Hopefully, someone will be able to tell us all about it!
People riding SP1/2s with stock exhaust at full throttle are tripping the noise meter at some tracks here in the US and being black flagged The stock Blade at full tilt has a fantastic sound track. With a full Akro system they have to back off to not get kicked out. Key to any successful exhaust swap on a 2017+ Blade is to either keep the flapper valve motor connected or use Woolich to flash the ECU,
Yep, no argument from me. Also, it has a very distinctive sound, especially after the 3500 rpm flapper opening!
Just spin the wheel towards furthest from you and then spin right back other way and connect, this one will be tight and just enough bend to get it on Spin back half way, turn ign on and it self centres
I have recently removed the stock exhaust and replaced it with an Arrow Pro Race, there are some pics in another thread. Arrow kindly include step by step instructions with images so I just followed that. It's very simple really, I'll try and explain as best I can now.........(this method is for use with the servo motor still plugged in, instead of a servo eliminator) 1.....remove the seat 2.....remove the plastic cover that covers the exhaust servo motor 3......remove the small Allen bolt that holds the servo in place 4......drop the servo motor out from the undertray 5......you do not need to unplug the servo! 6......loosen off the footrest hanger, remove bolts completely and allow it to 'Dangle' this will give you access to unhook the two servo cables which are tucked away behind the footrest. 7.......now remove the exhaust and support its weight by resting on its end. The cables aren't long enough to rest it on the floor. 8.......you will now have access to where the two cables enter the exhaust, remove the cables from exhaust. 9.......you will now have some slack to remove the cables from the servo motor wheel, you will need to rotate the wheel backward and forward a couple of times to allow the cable ends to come out. 10.......i marked up each cable with a 1 and a 2 so I know where they go should I need to put it back to standard. 11.......rotate the servo wheel back to its original position and put the servo motor back into its housing and secure it in place. 12.......fit your new exhaust....... Enjoy! Oh and...... Refit your seat, plastic cover and footrest hanger and tighten up accordingly! Hope this helps some of you, I can post some pics of the instruction images that came with my arrow if needed!
This is the plastic cover, you don't really need to remove this, it does make things a lot easier to riggle the servo moto out though and it was in the instructions, so I followed em.... Remove the cables from the exhaust first to free up some slack, just loosen off the bolts that are holding them in place.
