does anyone know of a way to remove DNA paint/markings without damaging the paint on a bike?

I stupidly let my 7 year old help me mark up my bike (matte black 2018 blade) and she went a little crazy with it when is turned my back. Completely my fault, can’t blame her.

You can’t really see the marks unless you’re looking for them but as I know they’re there my eyes are drawn them to them every time I go out.

She marked up the forks and engine cases but as they’re metal I was able to gently sand them off.

    The matte paint tho..

I think @PauloHRC had some "luck" with Datatag markings using baby wipes?
Those things are amazing, I'd give them a go.

Haha it may as well have been a baby wipe, I have them in abundance.......

I recently experienced while prepping an area of my belly pan for decal application, that datatag etching can be removed with Isopropyl Alcohol!!!!

Try some on the affected areas and see what happens, while it may remove the dried solution you may find that it has bleached the area underneath ever so slightly...... (it's designed to leave a UV stain for want of a better word, so even if it is removed it will still show up under UV light), And of course I can't be held responsible for any further damage to the paintwork!!!;)

Us older members know that parental discipline has been on the decline since the 70s.

Bring back the fear of the leather strap and wooden spoon I say!!:D:D

As the recipient of the belt, the cane, 2 wooden spoons (because the first broke when I was hit with it), and a multitude of various other implements be they wooden, metal or plastic, I am fully in disagreement. It never stopped me being a little shit whilst growing up, or at least growing older.

Can’t blame her - I asked her to help and she did what she thought I was asking.

    Been kicking myself privately mine!

Still, if that’s the worst damage it gets over the next few years of track days and hooning I won’t mind.

I will add tho that the instructions that came with it weren’t completely clear. The diagram showing where to “paint” the liquid indicated to cover the entire bike including the forks.

Only if you read the small print does it say to not do moving parts or obvious places in view.

I think it shows up more on the matte as well.

Having been raised by an insane woman from Glasgow, I had everything hurled at me that wasn't nailed down when I acted up. Luckily, we did not keep a caber in the house.

And it didn't stop me from being a terrible child.

My parents once left a tin of white gloss in the bathroom open. Everything, including myself was painted white. There is a photo somewhere, I'll have to dig it out.

Wait till they get older, and they come flying past you at 150 on your bike, take over your garage, use all your tools, etc
