Had a drive on the Blade. Colour scheme is nice in the flesh. My first impressions are brakes do feel soft, will look at braided lines and master cylinder. Very nice! I really wanted that colour but couldn’t get one in budget prices were £4750 - £5k for 10k miles or less and I only found 2 in my time of looking over a couple of months so they don’t seem to come up often in that condition/mileage. Get some more pics up its not a bike you can get bored of seeing
Just home now after the weekend. I collected the bike outside Dublin yesterday, visiting Dublin city with my child and ex-wife was the car driver)) Theme parks, Zoo and the beach)) Was racing home before dark. My impressions of the bike, if you haven't driven these before, the remarks and feedback earlier in this thread from the other bikers is all accurate. Bike is very easy to handle in city traffic and busy roads. The brakes are on the soft side but are ok. The stock exhaust sounds ok, it's not as dull as I was expecting but aftermarket exhausts have a more impressive tone if that's what you are after. I had been planning on getting a fairing kit, but seeing this colour scheme up close it would be criminal to alter it. From having it only 1 day I can confirm it is a real head-turner. In the town and at the theme park there was all age groups stopping to admire and examine it closely. It looks like a modern bike, and the underseat exhaust looks good. My only complaint with the looks are the single dipped headlight, will be reading @Boothman. I paid €4900, probably around £4500. If you are considering one I would recommend. I will take more photos when it is bright tomorrow
Those appear to have 60mm projectors. I have 80mm. Looks better, but are more difficult to accommodate inside the headlight. The big issues are securing the projector inside the headlight, but that kit already provides back plates for that purpose, and also find a "vacant spot" to put the ballasts and wiring.

Obviously expect to pay more if mileage is low. Prices are comparable with GSXR and R1 of same year and mileage. Is plenty of nice examples with aftermarket accessories with mileage closer to 20,000 for around the same price I paid
I got an 05 plate Repsol with 8k on it when it came up earlier in the Summer as it was too good to turn down.
I’ve had 2 x RR-7s and 1 x RR-6 and will probably buy another if a mint, low-miler comes up. Fantastic bikes that are only let down by the spongy brakes and soft fork (even on hardest settings). Both these are easily remedied though. If I had to make one other criticism it would be the lack of a slipper clutch. Again, easy enough to remedy.
In terms of fixing the spongy brakes, is it the master cylinder change that's the definitive solution? My RR6 brakes are really bugging me now, had the calipers checked and the seals replaced, just fitted new HEL lines and new brake pads, (along with new fluid obviously) and still they're incredibly spongy. The lever comes back further than any bike I've ever owned at a standstill. Yes, the bike stops, in a fashion but I've no confidence in the brakes at all TBH.
100%. The OE Nissens cylinder is where the problem originates. I went from the OE setup to Brembo 19RCS, M4 calipers and Hel lines in one foul swoop and almost went over the handlebars on my first test run. In reality the cylinder and lines would have been suffice!
The Brembo master cylinder is around €300, is that what you would expect to pay? And the master cylinder includes replacing the brake lever. Braided brake lines are less than €100 so will get those and see the difference before getting a master cylinder. Rear brake is ok, front does stop me but much softer than I would like.
Does replacing the master cylinder require also replacing the stock brake fluid reservoir, and does it affect the working of the brake lights?
I’m pretty sure it does require a different reservoir and will need a brake light switch. Have a look at biker discount store and talk to mike as he will sort out some sort of discount if you mention the forum. Look at accosato too as I can recommend them as have the master on mine
Yeah the cylinder is usually bought with the reservoir kit. The cylinder comes with a brake light switch of its own which just wires into your existing wires.
Desirable extras are adding up £££€€€€. Master cylinder, braided lines, headlight upgrade. Will do those next week. Thanks for advice/feedback on forums like this. The other desirables will have to wait, perhaps permanently. I can see the advantage of a slipper clutch but that's another £600+, perhaps next year, quickshifter, aftermarket exhaust and of course carbon wheelset)) Anyhow, I have decided I don't need a fairing kit this year as the colour scheme looks alot better in real than in the pictures. Have heard a few say it's the best looking bike they have seen, some asking why underseat exhausts aren't still offered as the bike looks so much cleaner. I tried uploading more pics from my phone but it tells me the size is too big, I am not up to speed on computer/ smart phones, too smart for me by half))
