Hi folks can anybody tell me the standard settings / clicks out for compression and rebound on the rear shock 2005 1000RR. I have a pdf service manual that says compression 9 out from full in, a pdf owners manual that says 17 clicks out from full in and my friends has a haynes manual that says 2 and a Quarter. Talk about confused
I'll be of no help here, but will recommend taking it to a shop to set your suspension. Not very expensive and it changes the bike like you wouldn't believe! I always take my bike to my suspension guy at least once a season.
Hi Spygoat, Just wanted to put back to standard for the time being as our local Susspension guy can't get me in for a couple of weeks as he's snowed under . This is what the service manual says
Pretty simple there. Adjust to full hard by going clockwise until it stops. Then, anti clockwise the prescribed amount of turns. Job done!
Yeah you would think so buddy but here's my dilemma, this is from the owners manual pdf that says 17 clicks
That one is saying standard is full hard. I would try both and see which feels better. Ultimately, suspension settings vary greatly between riders. Someone weighing 170 pounds (like me) will need different settings than someone who eats a lot of spam fritters and/or pies.
Yeah I'm about 12 stone the guy before me 17 stone Both say full in but one says 9 clicks anticlockwise from full the other 17 anticlockwise from full. I've gone with the 9, reason being the front compression and rebound were pretty close to the service manual ( first picture ). Hopefully this will be fine until I see the Susspension guy. In the mean time if anybody does have the correct settings they would be much appreciated
