I think the ad price is not worded the best way but in @Chukzn17 defense when you roll down to the description it does say in caps that the bike will go to the dealer for 4100 and he’s looking for an offer above that. There is no deception really the lads just a bit frazzled by the stress of it all - give him a brake. Bottom line it looks to be a great bike at a very reasonable price.
Fair enough, but it didn't sell at £4700, hence the drop to £4100 for all except a forum member. I agree and apologise for my incorrect maths, but I was so astounded by what I was reading!! In post #12 I have clearly favoured this bike as a viable proposition. I do not sway from that. My point, which I thought was clearly made, is that the purchase price for a forum member is higher than that to a non-forum member. Sure, it is a seller's prerogative to name his price, and the buyer's to either accept or reject it. What seems unfair and perhaps unreasonable here is that @Chukzn17 did not simply respond with 'Yes, my bike is available for £4100,' rather than offer a raft of reasons of why it should be more expensive for a forum member.
Okay, so £4101.00 buys it? There is no way around determining why one buyer can pay £4100, yet another must pay higher. Forget about dealing with drop kicks and lookers, that is what we must allow for with any vehicle sale. But worse might be to come, because with my experience with dealers and the automotive sales in general, once a price has been agreed 'in principle' in all likelihood, on returning to the dealer an excuse will be made to counter with an offer of only £38 - 3900. THAT is a very realistic prospect.
@Marko74 could in theory just buy it through ebay now for £4100!! But it would seem the deals been blown out of the water now anyway!! @Chukzn17 should have just advertised it for what he actually wanted for, rather than bumping the price up afterwards. In his defence though I do not believe he's done that on purpose because its a forum member
Lol , thanks guys, however marko is looking to buy the first bike in question for a lot less that my bike .. its has done over double The mileage mind you .. Off to HONDA this week it is then..
You cant buy it at £4,100 off the eBay @PauloHRC as its a classified ad (so no ‘Buy it now’ option) and it does say he’s intending selling to the dealer for £4100 but is looking for offers over that if anyone’s interested. Forget the ad wording quality and look at the bike - its too good for a dealer to snap up and turn a chunk of profit on
Christ poor chukzn ...remind me never to advertise my bike on here bunch a budding Arthur Daley's lol
Exactly .. its clearly stated , that if you think £4100 is a great price and you could pay a bit more to have it .. then make me an offer .. if not that i dont really care what else is to be said by anyone .. we all know that dealers pay below price . And i they offered me £3900, i have shown them the bike and how good condition it is , and tyres are still good for a few thousand .. brake pads loads left etc... told them i needed £4500 , they offered me £4100 and i drop it thursday or friday .. so thought id see if any more interest as this bike at £4100 is an absolute steal!! And if i was in for a fireblde and see this i would have no issues offering £4200 for it and snap it right up.. however because i put it priced at £4100 people think they gna buy it for £3500 ... forget all the hassle, im just selling it for £4100 and a kick in the bollox for shits and giggles
Just for fun: I paid £5700 in june 2018 (14months ago) Had 9k miles on it Selling for £4100 Now has 12.5k miles Loss of £1600 in just over a year & 3.5k miles added to the clock.
Unfortunately, as with anything it’s always a case of what the market will pay today and not what value can be implied from the market of X months ago.
I do frequent the local Harley World as they do free coffee and it's a posh machine And yes wandering around I'm stunned at the price of some of them
