Decode engine numbers.

    Can anybody tell me what year my engine is from the engine numbers? Got told it was 2006 when i purchased the car but didnt think 06's had silver crank cases?

    From what I found elsewhere.
    0XXXXXX for '04, 1XXXXXX for '05 and 2XXXXXX for '06
    So yeah, you have a '06 bike, not car ;):D

    Do 2006 bikes have silver crank cases?

    Ok, but the engine is from a bike, correct? And the engine code reads it's from a 2006 engine code. Can't help with the colours as from what I understand there were various colours depending on where the bike came from.
    It might have also been dropped on its side or involved in a crash, then had the cover replaced? Too many maybes, but you do have a 2006 engine.

    That accords with my 2004 which is: SC57E 2025***.

    For what it's worth, there were some significant upgrades with the 2006 - 7 motors.
