Just done a compression test on my 05 cbr1000rr all 3 cylinders are great pressure but number 3 cylinder has no pressure at all I put a little oil in the cylinder tried again and still no pressure any one had this problem I’m thinking stuck valve or hole in the piston
As above, Burnt out exhaust valve, sticking valve(s), hole in piston. What was the symptoms when the problem occurred?
I originally thought it was just the valve check as I had gone well over it so I re shimmed it and no better it’s only running on 3 cylinders the day it happened my m8 who was behind me said a big puff of white smoke cane out the back of the exhaust
White smoke could suggest steam but you’d still have (some) compression. If it doesn't sound like a bag of nails its not the rings. Holed piston is possible but you’d have other things throwing up no oil pressure etc. A cracked head or block you’d hear and there’d most likely be a puddle under it. Sounds like an exhaust valve is jammed open but you say you've checked that
I did notice it had a ticking sound but read some where this is common on honda’s also it could be a exhaust gasket from the cylinder head leaking can cause a ticking sound and also a loose valve can cause a ticking sound in my book it shouldn’t be makeing a ticking sound no matter what
@mickey. The only real way to pinpoint the fault is with a cylinder leakage test. You'll need compressed air though, so will need access to a compressor! Get the offending piston/cylinder TDC power stroke & get a constant 100 psi into the spark plug hole (You might be able to adapt something to fit the compression tester). You'll hear where the air is escaping & it'll be either - Out the exhaust exit (exhaust valve)/air filter box (inlet valve)/oil filler (piston or rings)/bubbles in cooling system (headgasket or cracked head). However. If your valve clearances are roughly correct on that cylinder then it probably won't be a bent valve. But wherever the fault lies, I'm afraid it's engine out/head off time for you my friend.
I’m in the process of takeing the head off if it is a stuck valve then I’m just going to get a second hand head as it’s much cheaper than getting it re furbished
@mickey. It could be mate, but I'd always refurb a head before fitting it on. You could be fitting one that's going to have the same problems in the near future. It's a lot of work to change, and you know the service history of your head! I'd fix your head/valves if I were you.

I've got a valve spring compressor I can lend/send to you but I could be jumping ahead of myself here until you know what's wrong. If you do have a faulty valve(s) & don't fancy it/haven't got the time, it could be worth sending it to an engineering shop for crack testing, reface & valve replacement? Unless the refurbished head is an exchange unit?

@mickey. No problem chap. Regarding pictures, I'm no expert & no doubt do it a long winded way. I email them to myself, save as & then compress them. They are then 'small' enough to 'Upload a File' I don't know how to PM on here though! Not sure if pictures/videos would help me diagnose what's going on inside mate, but if you've absolutely no compression at all, it's either a major valve or piston failure, which will be obvious when the head comes off. Where in the country are you?
Not a million miles away mate. If you haven't got the time, I'll refurbish your cylinder head professionally if you like, provided that's the problem.
