Hi just wondering what tyres you are using on the sps , I have bridgestones rs10r at the moment and they seem good but was thinking of trying some others when these need replacing ,
I was looking at them and theres some good reviews , are yours the super corsas sp ? , oh and I don't do wet weather either lol
Supercorsa sp again I don't ride in the wet also they like heat below 10c take a lot of warming up . Very happy with them however if I was riding all year would go for Diablo Rosso corsa 11 next ones in the range
Mine are still the originals, not sure if they're sp or not. Can't look either; bike's buried in the back of my lounge room!!
I've swapped to the Michelin Power RS's on my SP, love them as they warm up quickly and as good as Power Pilot 3's in the wet. Good for road and track of which I have done both, just love them.
Hey Guys, I have the standard Bridgestone S20's on mine. The front is original from new and the rear has been replaced about 1200 miles ago and still has a decent depth of tread left but the bike only has 5k on it. When I do replace them I'm not sure whether to go for the S22's or the Sport Touring T31's. The T31's will probably give double the mileage and be better if caught out in the rain and with my skills I doubt I would notice the grip levels when leaning. Both sets cost the same money. Does anyone have thoughts on these options?
I am not so sure about these high mileage tyres, if the mileage is mostly upright-ish riding. I had these T30 Evos and did thousands of miles, two trips to Italy - wore the things flat, but they still had tread left. The problem was with the handling in corners which became shocking ! The front was square as well, and yet still not down to the wear marks. They had to be changed anyway as they were so square. So I am not sure whether it is worth it.
If you wanted mileage I'd be tempted to fit michelin road 5s instead of t31s. Personally for a fireblade though I'd stick with a sportier tyre unless you are commuting etc.
I think you mean the 'non-riding' in the rain. My bikes suffer aquaphobia. Sadly, there is no available treatment.
I only got about 1200 miles out of the rear RS10. Were superb once you got heat in them on dry roads but they took forever to warm up in the loweish temps of March and April (bought the SP in March. When cold and a bit damp they were very fidgety and didn't inspire confidence. I swapped to S22s and didn't regret it. Got 5000 miles out of the rear and now on my second rear S22. Front is just down to wear bars and needs changing at about 7000 miles. For road riding they are excellent. All the grip you need and if you get caught in rain, nice and confidence inspiring. Did a track day on them and when pushing hard the rear did start to overheat a bit, but for my riding skills, more then enough for the track too - I'm a Bridgestone fan boy mind you (always my preferred tyre brand)!!!
Thanks mate, I don’t really do rain but where Im at I have to plan for it even in mid Summer. I thought with having more of a tread pattern the T31’s might have been better in the wet but i have a few more miles before i need to decide yet
I've been running BT16 pro, I know old tech (because they only cost 180 fitted ) not really had any issues with them , have a lot of confidence in them , no problem getting on the edge but I only get 3000 miles out of a rear (just) but thinking of going to a set of S22s after reading @willb ,s post .
@LRJimmy I have the T31s on my Crosstourer and they are an excellent tyre - would also be a great choice for road riding in my view. @Selmer50mark I used to run the BT016 on my old CBR650 - likewise had no issues and also gave me lots of confidence. I used to get 7-8k miles out of a rear but that bike had a lot less BHP (about 85)!!!
+1 for the Michelin Power RS. Great feeling and warm up. Only had them about 6 months but they seem good so far.
