For me it was 660 miles on a £600 FJ1100 on the way to Morocco. From Bayonne in south west france to a place called Loja (ride to Grenada and turn right) in southern Spain. 95 to 105 mph for 130 miles, stop, fill up, go, repeat till arse hurts so much we had to stand up at the bar all night.

What about you, i bet thats a mere cockstride to some of you out there?

Regularly do 400 miles on a rideout on a Sunday. Still ok and no hurting arse, although i tend to move off the bike quite a bit.

UK ride out record is 420 miles around the rural roads of Essex & Suffolk.

Most in a single day was from Surrey to the Western Forrest in Germany (via France, Belgium & The Netherlands). About 550 miles

Most i've done is Huddersfield to Torquay on the zx6r. Two up, tank bag and huge rucksack on the pillion. Yep, pillion was female, hence HUGE and FULL rucksack. My back, wrists and arse were proper buggered at end of that.

I remember doing 300 miles from Stoke to St Ives in Cornall on a 350 YPVS in 1988, took me 4.5 hours and i was still fresh when i got there, 90mph would keep all the weight off the wrists and be just at the start of the power in top gear. But i was a lot younger then obviously.

My mate did 600 in a day on a '08 R1, from Stoke down to my place in Premery (France). He decided to go a day later than us, so we just holed up in Arras and went out for beers, he arrived in the morning after setting off at 3 am because he couldnt get to sleep, too excited and some idiots kept texting him telling him what a good time we, er, they were having in Arras.

1000 miles is about right mate, we did the "Bikes in the back of a van" thing to Sospel and that was about 1000 miles and took 22 hours, i drove all the way and was shattered when i got there, God knows how you managed it on a bike! I've heard the stories of the Bol, guys turnuing up on saturday , still in their work clothes and leathers with a toothbrush and a credit card. I wish i would have gone when it was at the Paul Ricard circuit, the current one at Magny Cours is easy about 20 minutes from my place in France.

I did about 550 miles one day on my 954. I got up early one summer morning for what was going to be a quick thrash. It was such a lovely day i just kept riding. I ended up in North Lincolnshire. My short thrash lasted about 14 hours, petrol, food and toilet stops included. I spent the next three days very uncomfortably.

You must have buns of steel doing that many miles on a 954 saddle. I've had more comfortable physiotherapy sessions.

Ken, I forgot to mention I had a gel seat pad fitted to it :). My 'buns' are kinda tough though, all that caning at school made the skin a bit leathery ;) Trouble is I kinda enjoyed it

Which gel pad did you have Nige? I'm always up for some advice on comfort.

I had the whole seat re-done Ken with a gel insert, I can't remember which Company I sent it to, but I think I saw the advert in one of the bike mags. Sargent seats are nice and they use a special foam that is quite comfy, I think they are about £250 though if my memory serves me right.

    Yeah they're not cheap.

I suffer a bit with sciatica which puts me off touring much, but a reupholster may be the answer.

I might even have the bike done too.

Keeping the bike then Ken, fantastic news if you are?

Anyone got any view on the Honda e seat, it’s expensive but my old well sat on arse was giving me hell last year, so I am considering forking out for one in the spring
