Hey everyone so now shes sporting a new battery I'm considering getting heated gear for the first time. Been looking at Keis gloves an inner soles. Just curious has anyone used those or do we all prefer heated grips? Been suffering like mad with my hands an toes. On a 2010 blade. Thanks in advance,
Keis heated gloves/inner gloves are ok but wiring can be a nuisance. Heated grips are a much better option.
Forget heated grips if your hands are really prone to getting cold ive got grips on my other adventure bike and i left them off last weekend and used my keis gloves and body warmer. Yes the cable is there but its never been an issue for me before just plug them in and fling your leg over the bike so the cable is under your ass going to the rear seat cowl the trick is to make sure the cable isnt like 2m long flapping everywhere
I guess it depends how much you want to spend. I've also been looking and have found these from Gerbing in the link - they can plug into the battery in standard form but have the option of being powered by a lithium battery in each cuff too - going for the 3ah set will cost you £300. I've never used heated gloves before but this brand has a lot of good write ups. I had that in a loan car at the start of the year and it was very good...but when I priced the wheel and wiring update to upgrade my one it was silly money...I could wire some gloves into the cigarette lighter though
Gloves are better than grips in my opinion as they warm the whole of the hand. Saying that I have heated grips as I don't tend to ride when it is overly cold and they do enough to keep me going until the sun comes up. When I used to do the weekly commute from Lincoln to Bristol I used those horrible looking grip muffs. Even with snow and ice on the ground they kept my hands warm and I rarely put the heated grips up and if I did it was at the lowest level.

lmao cheers everyone gonna get something ordered later in the week. Bit of a weigh up between buying heated grips for both the current winter bikes or gloves. On the heated grips front guessing oxford sport's are the way to go? Been mainly my fingers that have been getting me does anyone know if any of the gloves have heated elements in the fingers or is it just in the palms of the hands. Got to try some Keis sport ones on yesterday but couldn't feel any heat in the fingers.
I've removed the tail fairing and sit directly on the exhaust, keeps the jewels perfectly incinerated. For face warming you can run a length of garden hose, shove it down the exhaust and the clamp it in your visor on your helmet for extra toasty. NB one undertakes these clever ideas at ones own risk
Have a look at these guys https://www.blazewear.com/shop-by-activity/moto I have worked with them and whilst not the cheapest, the quality is top drawer, they use carbon fibre and other materials as opposed to metal for the heating elements, and they can be worn plugged into the bike or independently. I have looked at most heated brands quite closely, and in my opinion (for what its worth) this brand knocks the rest into a cocked hat.
Hi @T.C Any experience with Gerbing’s? They offer a lifetime warranty on the heating elements of theirs.
My experience of them goes back many years ago and it was cr@p and I vowed never to use their stuff again. But like many products, they have improved over the years and no doubt it is probabky good stuff now, but I have no recent experience.
